High-Quality Assembly. This cold air intake comes with a large 8-layer Snap-On filter that is cleanable and made of high-quality cotton. What's more? It has a fully enclosed airbox that protects the filter from dirt and keeps engine heat out. A snap-in lid with silicone edge trim seals the airbox and protects it from power-robbing engine heat. Completing this cold air intake assembly is a mass airflow sensor with an extension harness. This is the 3rd S&B intake I’ve installed on the 3.0 Duramax. The first two on my half ton Sierra’s and this last one on my wife’s 21 Yukon. Install is straight forward without issues. The S&B stuff is top quality. The issue I had with the setup on the Yukon was the RPM surge at 1,800-2,200 RPM. Lugging up a hill the vehicle surged and bogged. It felt like it was getting too much air so I enclosed the top inlet that comes out at the top of the intake and near the fender. The bottom plug below is not open and the front air inlet hooked up. Now the only inlet is the front scoop and the vehicle runs perfect with no surging. No more whistle/sucking sound from the intake, but it’s my wife’s ride so she is happier without it.

Cold Air Intake
This enclosed air intake won't break the bank. Comes with a whole new airbox and intake tube, also all the necessary installation components. Installation took me 30 minutes, I am a mechanic so it was quite simple. Haven't tested throughly on the gains so I can't honestly tell you what the gains are. The throttle response is noticeable. This and my Bama tuner should help wake up my 5.0!

Not bad
I wish I could hear the sound of the intake but I have borla attack exhaust so that's all I hear lol. Don't really notice any difference but looks better than stock.

Not really sure about this one.
Didn't read all the reviews but I should have and you should too. From reading the reviews it's hit or miss with this cold air if it will go smooth or having to redrill holes and other things with this because nothing lines up. Had to redrill 2 of the holes intake duct to intake box. The holes on the rubber sleeve where off had to use a small screw driver to get it to hold in place. The bottom hole of the air box was off I little bit but was able to get it after putting in all the screws and twisting the box all around one screw at a time. After fishing up with the install my thoughts are I should have went with K&N.

I recommend using lock tire on the MAF sensor screws other than that simple says it doesn't need a tune but think you get more out odlf it
