Merideth: What's up, guys? Merideth with americantrucks.com, and today we are checking out the Corsa Performance Closed Box Cold Air Intake with the Donaldson PowerCore Dry Filter, fitting all 2021 and newer 5.3-liter Chevy Tahoes. Now, this is gonna be a great choice for the Tahoe owner who's looking to get a bump in performance and efficiency for their V8, with a high-quality cold air intake. This will not only help out with some better airflow, but also some of the cleanest airflow that you can get if you're constantly in dustier areas, harsher conditions, and really, anywhere that you would want full protection and some of the best filtration for your intake system. It's also a no-maintenance system, with a surprisingly long filter rating. So, if you're looking for a high-performance intake that you can essentially set and forget, this is going to be great for you. Now, this will have a couple key features that really set this apart from other cold air intakes in the category. First and foremost, the PowerCore dry filter. Now, this is not a cleanable or reusable filter, but this will have roughly a 150,000-mile lifespan, which is multiple times the lifespan of an oiled or a reusable dry filter. Now, dry filters are also great for microcontaminants and a higher filtration rate, and this one is going to do that with a much higher filtration efficiency than the average filter, because of the tight-packed design of the filter media. It's also going to have a straight-through style intake tube, for unobstructed airflow and more of it, considering that the tubing size is going to increase the performance. Now, it will also have a straight-through style intake tube, for unobstructed airflow, which will help out when it comes to your performance. The intake also features an air box style design. This is going to be the top portion of the airbox that is included in the kit, and it will mate up to the lower factory air box that you're going to keep in your Tahoe. Now, that's going to add a lot of protection to the filter, and just extend the life of it that much more. Now, this will also have a clear sight window on top, to keep an eye on your filter, and a sporty look, especially with the stainless hardware details and the black Corsa branding. Now, the housing and the tubing here are all made of a cross-link polyethylene material, durable against hot engine bay temperatures, and rigid enough to stay in place, but does not hold heat at all, keeping the air inside the tubing and the housing cool. Now, again, the filter included will be a dry filter, made of a packed dry media, that will not require maintenance over time, thanks to its construction. The kit will also come with silicone couplers and stainless clamps, for a crack-free design and a rust-free design, keeping the premium look over time. It will also come with all the other hardware that's needed for a direct bolt-in construction, with no tune required. Now, this is about $450, being one of the premium choices in the category. Now, this is going to have much more than the entry-level or even mid-level choices. Not only will this have a very protective construction, with the closed air box design, but it's also going to have a dry filter that's going to last almost four times the average filter, without even having to check on it, making it a great pick if you want to invest in a quality intake for your Tahoe, for some of the best filtration, and a boost in performance. Now, as far as install's concerned, this is gonna be a very easy 1 out of 3 wrenches on the difficulty meter. The 5.3 intake is very easily accessible, and very easy to swap out, so I'm gonna say about an hour or so to get the job completely done. Now, speaking of the install, one of our customers here has put this on their 5.3 Tahoe, and is going to walk you through what the process looks like, step by step. So, that's gonna wrap it up for what I have to say. Let's go ahead and jump into the install.Man: All right, guys. We're gonna disconnect the battery real quick before we start. So, I have a 10-millimeter socket. All right. Disconnected. Ready for the next step. All right, guys. We're gonna start the removal process for the factory intake system. First thing we're gonna do is pull the red tab right here, on the mass airflow sensor. So, I just used my fingernail. Just gently pulled it back. Little black tab right here. Just gonna push that in. Slides off. Just gonna place it out of the way. From there, I have a 7-millimeter socket. I'm gonna put it on this little clamp right here to loosen. All right. So, we got this guy loosened up now. From here, I'm going to go to the throttle body. There's another 7-millimeter bolt. It's a little hard to get to. Use a longer extension. All right. I'm gonna place this out of the way. Next, we're gonna remove the factory breather hose. It's a little clip. Kind of hard to see. I'm just gonna...there's some little clips on the side. You kind of push in with some light pressure. Just gonna depress those with two fingers, and then pull back towards the firewall, and that'll remove the breather hose.[inaudible 00:05:25] the removal of the factory intake. We're gonna pull this little air duct back. Should loosen up really easy, like an accordion. From here, you're gonna kinda pull back gently, and then kind of rotate it 90 degrees, lifting up towards the passenger front wheel. This had a little struggle trying to get off a couple times. What kind of helped was just kind of pulling it a little bit back towards the radiator, and this little thing clipped right out. So, I'm gonna get this out of the way. The next thing we're gonna do is remove three of the bolts. We have one positioned right here. It's close to the mass airflow sensor. This one is going to be a 8-millimeter. So, 8-millimeter for these three. Long extension definitely helped out a lot. Another one over here. Kind of towards the coolant side, the coolant reservoir. All right. And then the third one, back right here. Should have a pretty good view of it. Should be enough for us. We're gonna just gently lift up. Be careful with your mass airflow sensor. I'm just gonna place this right here to the side, and we will remove the factory air filter. Gonna put that out of the way. We're gonna remove the mass airflow sensor from the upper box. To use that, we were using a T20 Torx. Just two screws right here. Don't lose these. Just gonna gently pull this out. Place it somewhere safe. All right, guys. We're gonna start the installation of the CORSA intake. We did forget one part. We did leave the second part of the breather hose attached. Same fittings, like right here. Gonna be a little bit here on the passenger head. So, just gonna kinda pinch those together, and it'll release up. Okay. So, we're gonna put this to the side. Now we're gonna use the mass airflow sensor into the new intake. We're now gonna use the supplied screws and gasket. They do give us two Phillips screws, and the little gasket guy, right here. These are Phillips. The ones we took off previously, they were with the Torx. Now it's just really easy with the Phillips. We're gonna place this off to the side. So, the next instruction on the paper instructions says for us to tighten up an adapter in here, but ours already came ready to go, tightened up with the filter. So now the next step is going to be to flip it. We're gonna install it on the factory air box. We're gonna reuse the three screws from the removal process. So, I'm just gonna hand tighten them for now, to line us up. Another one back here by the coolant. And we have a third one. It's on the other side right here. It's a little tight on this side, but third time's the charm. Got them hand-tight. I'm gonna come back with our socket. This is a 8-millimeter socket. Snug them up for now, and we'll tighten them up after. Can snug up the other one. All right. We got two sets of these hoses. One's gonna be a little bit bigger. In our bag, it had the 53206. Kind of the same size, so we're gonna put this one on the box side. Just gonna line up my clamp here. Let's get that guy positioned on. Just gonna snug it up right now. We'll put the other one on for once we put our elbow. Our second one, wrapped up in plastic, this one had 53310. This is the one that's gonna go on the throttle body. You'll notice it's shaped a little bit different. The smaller side is gonna go towards the throttle body. Probably should have tightened it up a little before, but... Actually, we're gonna fix this. We got the wrong clamp on here. They gave us two sizes of clamps. This one's 56. So we're gonna use the 56 clamp for the throttle body side. All right. We're gonna tighten that side down. Gonna kind of have it positioned this way. We'll have the little elbow for the supply hose kind of be pointed down towards the ground. And you'll have the mass airflow sensor down here. Gonna kind of work this in here. And we're gonna come to the throttle body side. Just kind of insert it, and just kind of be gentle, patient. Work our way in. Forgot to put it on, so I'm gonna [inaudible 00:14:33] that bigger clamp on here. This one is the 64. They're labeled pretty easy on the clamp for you to figure out which one. Might take a few minutes to kind of adjust it where everything lines up right. Tighten this back up. Tightening up the other clamp. This is another 64 as well. All right. We're gonna come down here. This is our third 64 clamp. Again, we're using a 8-millimeter socket, with a long extension. Okay. From there, you have a supplied breather hose that we have hanging off right here. So, we're gonna place that breather hose on the engine side. This is on the little swivel, so that you can kind of position it on here. We'll kinda work our way in till we're all the way in. All right. We're gonna tighten that up. We're gonna come plug our mass airflow sensor back in here. Just kind of move our wiring over... You can kind of bring it under here. Probably be the less resistant route. Nope. That doesn't work. Put him here. Clip it in nice and gently. Give it a tug, to make sure we're good. From there, everything looks to be installed. And then we have this little protective sticker on it, just to make sure you don't scratch it up. So, we're gonna undo that. [inaudible 00:17:28] comes up. Probably pull those screws to clean it up. You can kind of see inside the intake, where the filter is. And it looks like we're about done. We're gonna start it up and check it out.Merideth: So, that's gonna wrap it up for my review and the install of the Corsa Performance Closed Box Cold Air Intake with the Donaldson PowerCore Dry Filter, fitting all 2021 and newer 5.3 Chevy Tahoes, and you can find this right here at americantrucks.com.

Worth the money
This Cold Air Intake not only looks great, sounds great and is performing as advertised, it installed in 35 min. I’ve put CAI’s in 3 other SUV’s but this one tops the others. Highly recommend for the 2024 GMC Yukon XL.

Excellent Filter and Air Box
I had been looking for a cold air intake for my 2021 Ford F-150 and absolutely love this Corsa box and Donaldson filter. Not only are the parts high quality, but the fit is great and the performance is highly noticeable. I drive around a lot in Eco mode and didn't like the throttle responsiveness and this setup has completely changed that. Initial throttle response is much better and it's even more noticable while cruising and managing speed. The only thing I would mention to someone installing this is that it uses the factory/stock air dam which does not form a complete gap when attaching to the box. I put tape around the joint to be sure all air is coming from outside of the engine bay, but this is very minor and easy to address.

Cold air intake
I really thought you would hear this intake more. I also thought you would get a little better fuel mileage. The only postive is it looks nice under the hood and the filter won't need to be changed for 100000 miles.

Not as easy as the video makes it to be
The cold air intake looks sharp when installed, however, it’s not as easy as the video makes in out to be. The sensor that goes in the tubing from your stock tubing just free flows in there. Connecting the sensor in the new tubing to the other one, puts tension on it a little bit and can cause it to pull it down. The tubing itself is kind of a pain to have it sit flush on everything. Other than install, I have yet to drive it since it was put on last night. I imagine it will be as great as everyone else is saying. Thanks!
