2007-2014 Chevy Tahoe Accessories, Parts & Mods

The third generation Chevrolet Tahoe ran from 2007-2014. Based on the GMT800 platform, this generation implemented more angular styling cues than previous generations in order to shift the Tahoe into a more upscale market. Over the course of the third generation, many different engine and trim packages were rotated in an out. Initially, the base engine was a Vortec 4.8L V8 paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission and the 5.3L Vortec an available upgrade. In 2009 the 4.8L was dropped entirely and the 5.3L V8 became standard, alongside a 6-speed automatic transmission. Around the same time, Chevrolet briefly introduced a 6.2L V8 into the lineup as well as creating a hybrid Tahoe model. The hybrid models ran from 2008-2013 and used a 6.0L Vortec V8 gas engine and two 80 horsepower electric motors. With gas model sales doing very well, Chevrolet dropped the Tahoe hybrid and instead focused on the 5.3L and 6.2L gas powered SUVs. Alongside the regular production Tahoe, Chevrolet sold specially modified Pursuit models to police and law enforcement agencies around the country. These Police Pursuit Vehicles (PPV) were 2WD and featured upgraded suspension components and a heavy duty electrical and cooling system. The PPV models provide a great blueprint for regular 2007-2014 Tahoes in terms of ruggedness and everyday reliability. In terms of aesthetics, chrome accents (OEM on LTZ models), running boards, LED or HID lighting are all popular and easy ways to improve the look of a third generation Tahoe without having to cut or bend any metal.
