Understanding the MAP Sensor. In today’s electronically controlled engines, the Engine Control Module employs multiple sensors to monitor a series of variables continuously. Your RAM is no different, relying on numerous sensors to communicate with its computer for smooth operation; one such sensor is the MAP or manifold absolute pressure sensor. This sensor continuously monitors the pressure inside your RAM’s intake manifold, adjusting the rate at which fuel is injected into the cylinder to maintain a proper air/fuel ratio, improving drivability and mileage. Be sure to replace a worn or damaged sensor with the RAM MAP Sensor.
Improved Fuel Efficiency and Driveability. In any system relying heavily on the functionality of continuously used sensors, any slight variation in readings can cause many negative driveability issues; this is especially true with the MAP sensor. When this sensor fails or begins to become “lazy,” the improper reading will cause the computer to over or undercompensate, dumping too little or too much fuel into the cylinder. This improper air/fuel ratio causes a rich or lean condition resulting in poor fuel efficiency and terrible driveability. If your RAM’s MAP sensor has or is starting to fail, consider replacing it with this quality aftermarket product.
Direct-Fit. This product is a direct-fit part manufactured to the exact specifications of your RAM’s factory MAP sensor for a quality fit, finish, and functionality. This product also includes a new rubber O-ring for sealing.
Warranty. A 12-Month Warranty protects this product from manufacturing defects.
Application. This MAP Sensor fits 2010-2018 5.7L RAM 2500.
