The fourth generation RAM 2500, manufactured between the years 2010 and 2018, continues to improve on its predecessor. The 5.7L HEMI V8 was available for all years, finishing in 2018 with a rating of 383 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. However, over the course of the generation, the 6.4L V8 (with MDS) became the gas engine of choice, producing up to 410 horsepower and 429 lb-ft of torque. Alongside the gas engines is the highly durable 6.7L Cummins inline-six engine. This 24-valve turbocharged diesel came in two variants, standard output and high output (HO), with the former producing 350 horsepower and 660 lb-ft. The HO only had a 20 horsepower increase, however torque output jumped to 800 lb-ft peak at 1600 rpm.
Midway through production RAM 2500 changed to a three-link coil front suspension and a 5-link coil suspension in the rear as standard equipment. The active-level rear air suspension, originally only on the 3500, was made available to the 2500. By the end of the fourth generation, the RAM 2500 carried a max payload of 3,990 lbs – pretty incredible for a ¾ ton truck.
