2003-2009 Dodge Ram 2500 Accessories & Parts
When the third generation 5.7L HEMI and 5.9L Cummins diesel debuted in the RAM 2500 back in 2003, they set the benchmark for heavy-duty truck performance. A 5.7L HEMI V8 became the base engine (in lieu of the previous generation’s 5.9L Magnum V8) and a choice of three different Cummins inline-six diesels were available over the years as well. Riding on an all-new fully boxed and hydroformed frame, the RAM 2500 came with either a 6’3” (short) or 8’ (long) bed. For the first time ever, rear-wheel drive RAM came equipped with an independent front suspension (four-wheel drive variants retained a live-axle front end until midway through the generation) which helped to smooth out road harshness and vibrations.
With gas engine power ratings varying from 345-390 and the Cummins at 235-350 HP, both the gas HEMI V8 and turbocharged diesel in-line six engines of the third generation RAM 2500 lineup are easily augmented with basic improvements like a cold air intake, performance-oriented engine tune or cat-back exhaust system. Of course, the sky is the limit when it comes to modifying a 2003-2009 RAM 2500. As a proven and reliable workhorse, the aftermarket for this truck is mature and AmericanTrucks is proud to offer a second-to-none catalog that will allow you to customize your rig from bumper to bumper and all the hardware underneath.
