Robust Cast Iron Vented Rotors. One of this kit’s obvious upgrades is a pair of vented brake rotors precision-cast from high-grade iron, offering maximum strength and extreme resistance to heat. The rotor castings are then machined to precise tolerances for superior balance and an exact fit. Finally, these rotors are plated in premium zinc, preventing rust while also giving the rotors a stylish look.
Cross-Drilled, Vented, and Slotted Rotor Configuration. Another area where this kit provides its upgraded performance is the rotors’ cross-drilled and directionally slotted configuration. In particular, the cross drillings work with the rotors’ vents to efficiently dissipate heat, greatly reducing the chances of fade. Additionally, the directional slots maximize brake pad to rotor contact by sweeping away debris and moisture. These factors work to maintain consistent braking.
Unique Z23 Carbon-Fiber Ceramic Brake Pads. This kit replaces your stock pads with high-tech Z23 brake pads. These pads utilize an innovative carbon-fiber ceramic friction compound. Furthermore, this braking compound is formulated to offer extreme resistance to heat. This translates to consistent fade-free braking performance even through rapid braking cycles.
Low Dust and Noise. The carbon-fiber ceramic friction compound also offers extremely low levels of brake dust. This way, you don’t have to worry about always cleaning your wheels. These brake pads also feature an OE style chamfered and slotted design and dual-layer rubberized shims. The result is much quieter braking when compared to stock.
Direct Install Procedure. This rear brake rotor and pad kit installs directly into your truck’s factory rear brake location without requiring modifications to your vehicle. Also, installation requires just standard hand tools to complete as well as a bottle or two of DOT 3 or 4 brake fluid and high-temperature brake pad lubricant.
