The third generation F-350 debuted in 2011 and ran until the end of 2016. Alongside a revised exterior, interior and chassis, the big item for this generation of F-350 pickup trucks was the new powertrain lineup. A new 6.2L V8, churning out just over 400 lb-ft of torque, replaces the legacy 5.4L Triton V8 as the gas engine of choice. For the biggest jobs, Ford came out with an all-new 6.7L turbocharged diesel V8. Replacing the highly problematic International Navistar 6.4L diesel, the new "Scorpion" Powerstroke diesel was tuned to produce 800+ lb-ft of torque, with plenty more available through bolt-on fuel and tuning upgrades. Now a seasoned generation, the 2011-2016 F-350 trucks are superb platforms to modify and hot rod.
