Solid and trustworthy as your “Ford tough” truck itself, 1997-2003 Ford F-150 rear bumpers give a distinctively brawny look to your pickup while increasing its rearward armor well above that offered by flimsier stock bumpers. You can pick from a number of different configurations depending on the tradeoff you need between weight, protection, and extra features. Some of the “lighter” bumpers – most of which are full width to give superior protection to the back corners of your pickup as well as the rear in general – are made from 1/8” (3mm) steel plate. The heavy-duty types are manufactured out of a mix of 3/16” and 1/4” steel, carefully arranged to maximize shielding while keeping the overall weight lower to spare your truck the extra burden. These 1997-2003 Ford F-150 rear bumpers are built plain as well as outfitted with D-ring mounts for 3/4” shackles, which aid in recovery, LED fog lights or fog light pockets to light up the ground surface behind your truck while you’re backing up at night, and other handy features. Most are drilled so that you can readily install the factory backup sensors, too, keeping that highly useful stock function working at 100%. Tough, functional, and good-looking, these bumpers are finished in black powder-coat to ensure they stay rust-free as long as possible.
