Chassis Unlimited Swing Out Bumper Spare Tire Mount

Surprisingly good!

Solid bumper, good powder coating. Very symmetrical. Put it on a 2022 Silverado HD with a Duramax. You have to completely disassemble your original bumper and cut off some tabs used to hold the old plastic lower grill in. You'll also need to relocate the lower shutters if you have them. Expect to do some various plastic trimming behind the lower shutters for the winch to fit. An Apex 12K fits right into the space in front of the radiator without having to relocate the control box. Have a friend or an engine lift because with a winch and light installed, it is HEAVY. If you've never taken the face off your truck, expect to spend about 8 hours pulling everything apart and getting it all trimmed up. Loose fit your original bumper first, then put the ProLite in place. There are plenty of YouTube videos for taking the old bumper off. Once it's all back together and you start throwing P05AE codes, you'll probably need to replace the lower shutter unit.

Great Bumper, but needs some design review

The bumper is heavy duty and looks nice. One very irritating issue though... When installing the brackets for the bumper, found that the slots punched were too small. I had to ream the slots out to allow the factory stock bolts to fit through and bolt to frame. This issue added a couple of hours of installation time. plus a trip to the hardware stock to purchase reaming bits that fit drill to open up the slots. Once this was done, installation moved along better. Also wish that Chassis Unlimited supplied some photos in instructions to help identify the proper steps.

Nice looking bumper.

This bumper is tuff, well built and nice looking. Made of sturdy materials ready to assemble and install on your rig. The welds are layed well and the textured coating adds to the look.

Prolite bumper

Used the suggested shop by American Truck. Couldn’t be happier with the shop and the bumper. Looks like a factory upgrade. This thing is a tank.

I have had this bumper installed for a few months now. I like the look and it is really well made. A 12,000 lb winch makes for tight fit.

Chassis Unlimited Octane front bumper

Over all I am pleased with this bumper. The craftsmanship is exceptional and quality is outstanding. The fit is lightly adjustable allowing for minor up and down and side to side movement. This allows the installer to tailor the bumper how they want it, high and tight to the grill, or left about 3/4” lower if they choose. The one thing I would change if I were to do this install over to make it a lot easier would be to cut the holes between the outer wings and center section larger. Currently, the holes are about 3-3.5” diameter making it very difficult to get your hand through it to install the nuts and bolts. There is plenty of material to open that hole up another inch. Other than that, everything went smoothly and took about 2.5 hours to install in my driveway. I opted to make some brackets to mount the factory fog lights as they fill the opening nicely and allow you to use the factory wiring. You will need to trim the mounts on the fog light to do this, but it’s a simple fix. Great product, solid bumper and simple install.

My Extreme Chassis Attitude bumper is a bully

Just got back from Big Bend NP and thrashed my truck around the toughest roads. The bumper has the guts to hold up under harsh conditions. I would recommend lock washers and blue locktite on all connections as there was serious vibration and jostling going on. Needed more gap between fenders and bumper edges as the frame flex hammered the bumper against the fenders (it quit, self corrected over 120 miles of hammering!)

Awesome Upgrade

This bumper gives my truck a super aggressive look. Very nice craftsmanship in the design and overall aesthetics of the bumper. It does come in the pieces nicely packaged for shipping. I am not overly happy with the powered coating, the first tap and it chipped away. I may have to add more coating to in later. This about 3 to 4 wrenches on the installation side. I used a YouTube video to remove my old bumper, which seemed simple enough. That is until the wiring harness came into play. The Attitude Bumper did not come with any instructions so if you are not mechanically inclined, please seek professional assistance. Also, this is a two-person job, even with jacks and lifts you will need another set of hands at various points in the installation. Once I was able to get all of the grommets disconnected then it was pretty much a cake walk. Remember to keep up with your factory hardware you will reuse it to install your new Attitude Bumper. I will post some picture of my installation as soon as I can.
