(1)If you're looking for an easy-to-install and relatively affordable way to dress up and protect those rear door sills in your 2017 and newer Super Duty at home, then you might wanna consider a set of these officially licensed Tuf-Liner sill protection pads that we're talking about here today. Now, this pair of liners will feature the official Ford Super Duty logo in gray, along with a very durable bed liner style construction, all for right around the mid to high $20 to $30 price point.Now, peel-and-stick install is gonna give a soft one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter from the site, and take about 15 minutes or so to knock out from start to finish, as we'll demonstrate later in the video.So, as you guys can see, this is a very small but pretty unique way to kill two birds with one stone, right? You're adding a little customization to an otherwise forgotten about area while, at the same time, protecting that area as well. You know the deal, right? You're getting and out of the truck time and time again with the kid, with the friends, whatever. Loading and unloading tools and cargo and, sometimes, you can drop stuff on those door sills or even catch your boot getting in and out, and that's just gonna lead to small dents, scratches, and dirt build up over time which can become a little unsightly. And that where these Tuf-Liners come into play.Now, these affordable little things basically install over the metal portion of the sill, protecting it from those cargo drops and boot slams, and do so in a very cool way, thanks to that official Ford licensing, and, of course, your Super Duty logo.Now, as you can see, we do have it shown here in the gray logo, but you can also find a ton of other options back on the site including white, red, black, and then finally, blue. Also worth noting here, gang, that while these are only for the rears, you can also find a matching set for the front back on the site for a few bucks more.Now, as for your materials, the best way I can describe this stuff is similar to a bed liner material in regards to your thickness, overall texture, but also your toughness. You really get the sense that these little guys are up to the task of taking some abuse in your rig, and as such, are backed by a limited lifetime warranty. Now, the backside here has been pre-equipped with that 3M automotive-grade adhesive which will make for a very simple and very straightforward peel-and-stick job.Speaking of which, this is a great time to segue into our install, so let's head out to the shop, and we'll show you how these guys are installed on our Super Duty out there.Tools I use for this installation include a cleaning solution, along with a clean microfiber towel. Getting started here with our install for your rear door sill protection. Very easy job, guys. Peel-and-stick, as I mentioned earlier, but the very important part of a job like this is to make sure you're starting with a nice, clean, surface. So, in order to do so, I have a clean microfiber towel, sprayed a little cleaning solution this first, now we're just gonna simply wipe the area down before getting started.With our area nice and clean, now we just peel roughly an inch of the backing from the top of your door sill protection. This will allow you to get it in place, lined up properly without getting it stuck in a precarious situation. Okay, it's roughly an inch, give or take. It doesn't have to be too exact. Just gives you a good starting point to line everything up, and then we'll peel it off as we go.Now we want to figure out where we want this to live, and, in my opinion, it's pretty straightforward. These are cut perfectly to line up with your traction surface here on your plastic door sill. So going right below that, right below this little weather seal is the ideal location. So with the first little inch peeled off, we're gonna line it up, try to get it right underneath that sill as best we can so we can't see any of our silver paint. Once we have our first little bit secured, I like to fold it down before peeling our backing off just to make sure we're nice and level. Looks great. So now, we just slowly peel off our backing as we go and smoothen everything out.The big area you really wanna pay attention to here is this bend. Obviously, the door sill protection will bend down to conform to the curves. So you really wanna make sure this part's stuck good. And kinda slowly peeling as I go here, and once we've made it past this bend, we can go ahead and peel the rest of our backing off and secure the rest of the protection. All right. With our diver side on there, now it's simply time to repeat that process on the passenger side, and your very easy installation is complete.Hey, guys. replacement door sill protector
My stock metal door sill protectors were getting scratched and driver door coming up and would catch on my shoe. Replaced with these and very happy with them. Hardest part is to remove the old ones and the adhesive used to hold them on.
