That said, it is advisable to clean the mounting surfaces thoroughly before wiping them down with a clean rag moistened with alcohol or acetone. This is to encourage maximum adhesion of the 3M tape to your truck. Also, when installing this grille during cold weather, it is advisable to warm up the mounting surfaces first as the adhesive works better on warm surfaces. This can be accomplished with a heat gun or hair dryer.
