Merideth: If you're looking for a tail light that will stand out from the rest in its styling and provide a more modern LED appearance, this set of PRO-Series LED Tail Lights with the Jet Black Housing and Smoked Lens will do that for your 2014 through 2018 Sierra 1500 with the factory halogen tail lights and at a relatively affordable cost at that.A lot of tail lights will have a pretty similar build to them with a cluster of LED chips and sometimes a light bar, but this set will step out of that mold, offering some dynamic styling to the Sierra owner who wants a bold and stealthy appearance to the back of their truck whether they're simply looking for a style upgrade or to swap out a broken, fogged, or faded factory tail light. This set's appearance darkens the look of the back when the lights are off, thanks to the jet-black inner housing and the smoked lens, but when they're on the bright red LED lighting will shine through the lens, no problem. The four white fiber optic style tubes on the inside will illuminate red with the parking light, and in between each of them, there will be a little cluster of red LED lighting for the brake light, switching it up as far as style is concerned while remaining incredibly noticeable for safety on the street. The red reflector and the clear reflector at the bottom will also see an improvement, especially that clear reflector down there, so when you're swapping over your factory bulb it will maintain if not improve your rear-end visibility depending on how worn your factory tail lights are.The construction will be solid for a light with a polypropylene housing and a polycarbonate lens that will be impact-resistant and resistant to breaking down or being damaged from the elements over time. They'll include a coating on the front to protect the lens from yellowing or oxidating, which is something that you may have seen with your factory set over time. The best part is that these will be DOT and SAE-compliant and completely plug-and-play for a very smooth install. These will cost around $350, and compared to others, these are going to be on the lower side of the cost spectrum. One of the things that stands out compared to other sets is the unique appearance here that you don't see with other sets with the multiple light bar construction if you do want a set of tail lights that's going to stand out from the pack. It also has a hybrid construction that will save you a few bucks in the long run, making these a more affordable way to achieve that unique appearance and that upgraded styling for the back of your Sierra.Install here will be a 1 out of 3 wrenches on the difficulty meter, and because it's plug-and-play and only a couple of bolts, it's only going to take you about an hour to get the job done. However, tail lights are pretty simple, like I said, so you'll probably go quicker than that. Now at this point, we can head over to our shop and check out a detailed breakdown on how to get these onto your Sierra at home. So that's going to wrap it up for my review. Let's go ahead and get into the install.Man: For this install, you will need a ratchet, 3/8 to 1/4-inch adapter if necessary, and T15 and T25 Torx bits. What's up, guys? Today we're going to be doing some tail lights on our Sierra, so let's get started. Alrighty, guys, so we've got our tailgate down. We're going to go ahead and pop our tail lights out. So what we're going to need is a T15 Torx bit on our ratchet, and we'll go ahead and remove the two screws holding it in place. Go ahead and pop these screws out. And once we have those out we can go ahead and pull our tail lights straight out.Now what we're going to do is go ahead and pop these tail light sockets out of the housing, so we'll give those a quarter turn counterclockwise. Go ahead and pull those out. And then we're going to do this for all of our lights here. Just want to be careful not to let your bulbs swing and hit anything. So now we're going to need to remove the locator tabs here, and so we're going to grab our T25 Torx bit on our ratchet. Go ahead and remove the screws holding those in. Once we have those loose go ahead and pop these out. It may be a little stuck in there but that's okay. Go ahead and pull this other one out.Now we can go ahead and pull all the bulbs out of our sockets here. Now if you're doing this at home and you want to save these bulbs you definitely want to use gloves or a rag or something to grab onto these bulbs, just because the oils on your skin can cause hot spots which will cause premature failure of your bulbs. So we'll go ahead and pull these out. And now once you have this done for this side you can go ahead and do the same thing for your other tail light. So now we can go ahead and grab our new tail light, and the first thing we're going to do is put our locators onto our new tail light. So we'll set those down in place. And again we'll grab our T20 Torx bit on our ratchet and go ahead and run these on. Do the same thing for this one.So now we can go ahead and plug in our LED conversion connectors to our factory sockets here. So we'll start with our brake lights. Plug those in. Remember these are your larger sockets here. We'll go ahead with our turn signal. So now we're actually going to go ahead and reinstall the bulb for our reverse light. Go ahead and stick that in place there.Once we have all those on we can go ahead and get our sockets in place. So we'll start with our reverse light socket. That's just going to go right back down, and give a quarter turn clockwise to lock it into place. And for all these, I'm just going to go ahead and tuck those in, line them up, and lock those in with our connectors here. Now this one, you may have to bring in close. It doesn't exactly give you a lot of room. And once we have all those locked in we'll go ahead and set our tail light into place using our factory locators here. And once we have that in place we'll go ahead and reinstall our T15 Torx screws to our mounting locations here inside of the tailgate. We'll go ahead and get them started by hand. And we'll go ahead and tighten them back down again with our T15 Torx bit on our ratchet. Now once you've got this side done you can go ahead and do the same thing for the other side.Alrighty, guys, that about wraps up our review and install of our PRO-Series LED Tail Lights with Jet Black Housings and Smoked Lenses for your '14 to '18 Sierra 1500 with factory halogen tail lights. Thanks for watching. And as always, for everything Sierra, keep it right here at americantrucks.com.

Amazing Taillights
Super easy install, plug and play, I even swapped in the LED Reverse Light Bulb I already had installed on my old housing and it completed the full LED look.

Looks good
Easy initial install. Decent quality, but some components could use an upgrade. I had to reroute the wire harness for the in-bed lights because the resistors where melting it. After abut2 4 weeks the resistors started breaking, so I replaced them ($10/30min) withe a better resistor.

Issues with first round
Got the lights they looks amazing. When installing them. The power packs stopped working with in seconds. Contact American trucks and was sent the adaptor that does not work on my truck. Same adaptor that came with the lights. After some fighting over the chat support and calling in got a new set of lights and so far everything has been great witb them. Installation was less then 5 minutes even with a hand tool.

Halo Energy Sword
I do like these for brightness and look. I originally bought these for the interior design looking like the plasma sword from Halo. Yes they still capture me once installed. Buy these if you loved Halo. Only thing I suggest is that they mount the ballast at the factory or make something better than the 3m tape. maybe a clip to slide over the sheet metal behind the taillight housing in the sheet metal.
