Running Boards

A very good product for the price paid. Heave, bulky box arrived on time. No damage. Installation was very easy. Kudos to Ram for putting in the installation studs, realizing that many people would be installing running boards. There were 6 brackets, all identical so you cannot put them in the wrong places. Slid intuitively over the studs supplied. I did not need to wire brush away paint, nut went right on. Took about 35 minutes for me (69 year old, 3 weeks after hip surgery) to install brackets. This did not include the 10 minutes needed to wipe up the blood from the head would that happens when you forget the brackets stick out of the side of the blood. Putting the boards on the brackets was a little tougher and was easier when I had my son help. I wish there was a little more adjustment into and away from the truck. I feel they are tucked in just a little bit more that I would like, but is very minor. Look is fantastic, the chrome matches up well with the truck's chrome. I was worried about strength as I go about 260, but there is no movement whatsoever. My wife thinks they are wonderful, she can climb right in.

Easy install and look nice

First plan for 3-4 hrs to install, not 1 hr. like posted on other reviews. All of the brackets were marked and the instructions were easy to follow. Assembly is a long, tedious process, but the boards are super secure once mounted and adjusted. Leave all hardware loose until everything is bolted up and adjustment will be easy. I would recommend this product and American Trucks.Com

Stock Look

Boards were packaged well. Install was super easy but I would recommend that if you have someone to help you, you mount the brackets first and mount the whole thing as one solid piece. They look fantastic like they belong on the truck from the factory. Rock solid as well. Pick these up for sure!

Look good, pain to install

The install was on my 2005 Ram Quad cab 2wd. I've owned the truck since new, and has no accidents. It was impossible to level boards. I did get close after hours by getting my brother to stand on the high end. I am not a novice, and this should have been a one hour job. They are still not right, but you don't notice at a glance. If it wasn't so much work, I would take off and redrill the slotted holes for more adjustment. The old boards I removed were also made for my truck and there was no adjustment on them, they fit perfectly. Every damn bracket on these are slotted and should not be needed if they are custom fitted for a truck.
