Merideth: If you wanna turn some heads with the lighting setup on your 2009 to 2018 RAM 1500 with the Factory Halogen Headlights, these LED Strip Projector Headlights with the White Housing and the Clear Lens will be a great way to do it. Now, this set will be perfect for the RAM owner who wants that all-white aesthetic to the front, for a more unique appearance, while also upping the modern styling with the LEDs and the projector build. Now, the change in lighting won't just be for style, but also will be great if you're looking for more lighting performance, if your factory headlights just aren't working anymore, whether that's due to the halogen and the reflector combo just not being enough light, or a fogged-up light affecting the output. Now, as you can see, these are going to stand apart from the rest, with the bright white housing, and especially paired with that bright white LED light bar, or daytime running light, up at the top and down at the bottom here. Now, these are gonna match incredibly well, I've seen, with a lot of white RAMs, for that very uniform appearance. But, considering that white goes with anything, these are going to match incredibly well with whatever paint code that you have. Now, getting back into that running light, this won't just be there for show. The bottom running light on the top of it there is going to feature a switchback amber function for the turn signal. So, not only will they complement that modern styling, but they're also gonna make you a lot more noticeable to other drivers, for added safety on the road, in addition to the LED side marker light, that's going to keep up to standards, and also kind of break up that white a little bit. Now, the centerpiece here is the projector high and low beam, that's going to be right in the middle, that will undoubtedly help your lighting performance, due to the lens cleaning up the beam pattern, and offering a more uniform output, for better confidence when driving at night. Now, although these are pretty and pristine, they will also be able to hold their own, and keep a new-looking appearance for years to come, thanks to the construction. Now, the headlights will have a white ceramic housing on the inside, and an OE plastic backing, for a factory-like fit, and a tough, clear lens on the front, that's going to offer full transparency, and resist any damage from any kick-up on the road. Now, what's really great about this set is that it's going to come with all the bulbs for the high and low beams, and also LEDs integrated into the build, which will be super efficient, so it's not gonna require a lot of maintenance over time, and it's gonna have that extended lifespan, just because of the nature of the LED. Now, these will also be DOT and SAE-approved, and completely plug-and-play, so you can have some peace of mind that these are going to be super straightforward when it comes to install. Now, this kit will come in at roughly $750, and I think for what you're getting out of this kit that it's very much well worth the price. Now, this set really stands apart from the rest because of that white housing, but you're getting a lot of benefits here as well, the daytime running lights that are going to offer that modern appeal, not only when the white is illuminating, but you also have that switchback function to the turn signal, and you're also going to get everything that you absolutely need with a full LED setup, so you won't have to outsource, and it's going to be incredibly easy to install. Now, I think if you're looking for a very easy way to transform the front end, as far as the aesthetic is concerned, and get that lighting performance that you need for confident driving at night, then this is going to be well worth that price. Now, install's gonna be a 1 out of 3 wrenches on the difficulty meter, taking you about 45 minutes to get the job done with some pretty basic hand tools. Now, at this point, we can head over to the shop, and check out a detailed breakdown of how to get these onto your RAM at home. So that's gonna wrap it up for me. Let's go ahead and get into it.Man 1: For this install, you will need an impact, an extension, a 10-millimeter socket, and a clip removal tool. What's up, guys? Today we're gonna be doing some headlights on our RAM. Now, before we get started, we're gonna send you to watch a short video on how to remove your factory setup. But first things first, you will need a clip removal tool also, to remove your upper shroud, then proceed as directed, and we'll see you when you get back.Man 2: For this install, we are going to have to pull the grille off the front end of our truck, to gain access to the headlights. You don't need a whole lot of tools to accomplish this job, and I'm gonna walk you through every step of the process. So, let's get started. The first step is actually going to be to remove the rad support cover. Ours is missing, and all you'll need is this little clip removal tool, to pop the clips out to remove that, and that is going to gain you access to these four 10-millimeter bolts here at the top of the grille. So, I'll use my 10-mill socket on a ratchet, and pull those out. Once those bolts are removed, you can grab the grille from the front end and just give it a good pull, and it should come right off. The next step is actually going to be behind the headlight, and you're gonna gain access to this through the inner fender liner. There's an access window that we can use to get to the back of the headlight, and we're gonna be feeling for this white tab here. It has a lip on the bottom of it, and all we have to do is push it up to unlock it. I just need to pull the clip for the access window back, and then I can fold that back out of my way, and then I can put my hand inside, and release the tab. Next, once again using my 10-millimeter socket and ratchet, I'm gonna remove the two bolts here on the front of the headlight. That'll allow me to pull it out and unplug it from the vehicle. Now I can pull my headlight out, and unplug my connectors. Just to give you a little bit of a better visual of the clip that I was referring to earlier, this is it right here, and it is currently in its locked position. By pushing it up, you open up the slot here, to allow the headlight to come out.Man 1: All righty, guys. Welcome back. Now that we've got our factory setup off, there's one more thing we need to do before we can install our new headlights, and that's gonna be to swap over the marker bulb socket to the new assemblies. So, in order to get that out, we're gonna give it a quarter turn counterclockwise, like so. We'll just go ahead and pop that right out. And we are also gonna be removing the bulb. Now, if you wanna save this bulb, and you wanna keep its longevity, you definitely wanna wear gloves or use a rag to pull this out. We're not really concerned about ours, so we'll go ahead and pop it off. Set it aside. And we're gonna come to our new assembly with that socket, and plug that right in, like so. And we can tuck our wiring in. Get this in place. This is gonna be a bit of a snug fit, but once you get that to seat, you wanna give it a quarter turn, clockwise and lock that into place. Now we can do this for the other headlight, and we can go onto the truck. So, now we can go onto the truck, and we're gonna plug our marker bulb connector right back in. So, that's the factory housing. Lock that safety tab back in. Then our green connector is gonna go into our new one here. Lock that into place. Then we can set our headlight into the truck. And you wanna make sure you line up your back locators, as well as your front bolts. Then we'll start by getting our two 10-millimeter bolts back in here. We'll grab our 10-mill socket and extension on our impact, and get this top one in first, followed by our longer bottom one. Now, again, this part is hard to see, but you wanna make sure you reach back into that trap door in your wheel well, and lock that bracket into place. Once that's in, reset our trap door, and reinstall our push clip. And once you have this process complete for this side, you can repeat these same steps for the other side.Once you have both headlights in place, we can reinstall our grille. Remember to line up your locator tabs. And give those a solid push. Then we can reinstall the four 10-millimeter screws along the top. Now, once again, we'll grab our 10-millimeter socket and extension on our impact, reinstall our four 10-millimeter screws. After we have these installed, we'll reinstall our upper shroud. We'll grab our shroud, line that back up. Then we can push our clips back into position. And that'll do it.Merideth: So, that's gonna wrap it up for my review and the install of these LED Strip Projector Headlights with the White Housing and the Clear Lens, fitting all 2009 to 2018 RAM 1500s with the Factory Halogen Headlights. And remember, for all things RAM, keep it right here at americantrucks.com.
