      Description

GlowShift's Black 7 Color Series 2400 degrees F Pyrometer EGT Gauge is essential for any gas or diesel powered vehicle that has either a stock or aftermarket turbo or supercharger. This gauge allows you to closely monitor your engine temperature, making sure that it is not running too hot which could potentially result in engine damage. With simple Plug and Play connectors for the power and sensor harnesses, this exhaust gas temperature gauge will effectively take readings from 0 to 2400 degrees Fahrenheit.

GlowShift's Black 7 Color Gauge Series comes standard with features including a black gauge face, magnified clear lens and illuminated red needle that sweeps 270 degrees for maximum accuracy. These gauges also come equipped with stepper motor technology which gives this auto gauge tachometer the perfect combination of incredibly accurate readings and extremely smooth needle movement. The Black 7 Color Gauge Series includes the ultra-bright LED solid color modes Blue, Green, Red, Teal, Yellow, Purple and White. With GlowShift's 7 color LED through dial lighting system you can select and change the color of your gauge lighting display by simply pressing the button located along the front of the gauge. By taking advantage of the 7 Solid Color Settings and 2 Color Cycle Modes that utilize all of these radiant LED colors, you can fully customize the color of this truck or car tachometer gauge and add your own personal touch to the inside of your vehicle. Choose to either match your factory dash lights, or you can create a unique, original lighting pattern. Since a Color Memory option is built in, you won't have to reset the color of your gauge every time you turn on your vehicle. It will reflect your most recent color setting the next time it is active. By connecting the orange wire of your gauge to the factory headlight switch, you'll be able to dim your gauge 30% when your headlights are turned on to reduce the brightness of your gauges while driving at night.

While 1500 degrees EGT gauges are used for many diesel trucks, the 2400 degrees gauge is for diesels that need extra monitoring power where the 1500 degrees range isn't enough. This is often seen with modified turbo diesels including race trucks and pulling trucks. Examples are big turbo builds with a lot of fuel, and some race truck applications that require higher readouts because of how the truck runs. 2400 EGT exhaust gas temperature gauges are also used for gas engine applications, most commonly on trucks. While they can be used on cars, it is not very common except for situations involving turbo cars, for example, which will have the biggest need for an EGT gauge since the turbo runs off of the exhaust.

These gauges are designed to monitor much higher exhaust gas temperature readings, often in scenarios where much greater amounts of stress are being placed on your engine. Gas engines will burn hotter than diesel engines, causing the exhaust to become hotter as well. The 2400 also applies more to racing-based and similar applications where you're looking to put a much greater deal of stress on your engine. In this case, the 2400 is ideal in ensuring that your engine is operating at full capacity and remaining within proper parameters. Another reason to install a 2400 involves the size of the exhaust. Typically: the bigger the exhaust, the cooler it will run. This factor causes gas applications to run hotter because the exhaust in most cases is smaller than a diesel exhaust.
