1. After you have inventoried the parts begin by placing your Ram on a lift or 4 jack stands so you can work safely under your vehicle.

2. Slide the included 3" extension pipe over the factory Midpipe.

3. Slide the 2 3" U clamps over the 3" extension pipe. Hand tighten the forward clamp.

4. Slide the muffler into the extension pipe.

5. Re-position the 2nd 3" clamp over the muffler nipple and hand tighten.

6. Insert both rear 2 1/2" to 2 1/4" adapters for test fitment. Note that these two adapters will normally need to be shortened by up to 2". Do not cut more than 2" off or you will not be able to seal the muffler to the adapter! The CUTS must be done on the MUFFLER side of the adapters for proper installation of the tailpipes!

7. An alternate option to cut 2" off of the 3" extension pipe is a viable option but we chose to work from the front to the back for easiest installation.

8. Make your cuts to the adapters. Reposition them in the mufflers.

9. Slide a 2 1/2" U clamp onto the passenger side muffler nipple. Do not tighten.

10. Slide the supplied Hanger clamp onto the Driver side Muffler nipple. Do not tighten.

11. Slide the 2 1/4" band clamp onto each of the tailpipes.

12. Have someone pull hard on the tailpipes from the back of the vehicle while the other person inserts the tailpipes into the adapters. Don't worry about tailpipe position just yet.

13. Once the tailpipes are positioned into the muffler/adapters, now you want to rotate the muffler clockwise from the back facing forward at about a position of 10 o'clock.

14. Insert the U-clamp hanger in the existing rubber hanger above the muffler.

15. Adjust the U-clamp hanger to the muffler weight is held by the hanger.

16. Semi Tighten all the clamps. Be very careful not to overtighten. Each component should still be able to move with only a little bit of pressure.

17. This is the hardest part. You need to fine tune your muffler position, reposition your tailpipes and push the tail-pipes further into the adapter or pull them farther out of the adapters....ALL AT THE SAME TIME. With a little bit of patience and a buddy, you will find a position that;

a) puts the tailpipes back where you want them.

b) the tailpipes don't hit any part of the vehicle or the other tailpipe.

c) the Extension, Adapters, muffler nor tailpipes have any exposed areas that would create leaks.

18. Once you have confirmed you are satisfied with the fitment, tighten all clamps and do you final adjustment on the supplied U Clamp Hanger assembly.

19. After driving the vehicle about 50-100 miles, re-tighten all clamps and hangers.

20. Now that you have all the components loosely installed you can start making adjustments to align the system. Once you are satisfied with the alignment tighten all clamps and fasteners. Air tools for this step are highly rec-ommended.

21. Now start your vehicle and check for leaks. It's not uncommon to see condensation coming from the relief cuts  in the pipe for the first few hundred miles. Double check all clamps and hardware for tightness after the first week of operation and adjust accordingly.

Now it's time to fire up your Ram and enjoy your new Pypes Performance exhaust!
