Description

Performance Driven. Gear ratios dictate what type of performance your GMC Sierra 1500 will give you. Lower numbers will give you lower RPMs when driving at speed and thus the potential for better gas mileage. The Motive Performance 8.5 in. & 8.625 in. Rear Ring Gear and Pinion Kit - 3.08 is one such set of gears. All of the quality manufacturing and machining done to these gears and their low gear ratio is to give you better mileage on the street.

Superior Quality. Motive Performance uses only first run steel which means that there is no recycled steel in their casting process to potentially bring along contaminants that would weaken the metal. This gear set is made of 8620 steel and then then run through a heat tempering process that is computer controlled to ensure exacting standards that produce the hardest gear set possible. Once the gears are cut they are then lapped for a precise fit and finish that will increase efficiency and decrease operational noise.

Installation Notes. Before attempting to install a ring and pinion gear set, make sure you know what you are getting into. If you do not have the proper tools and equipment or the proper expertise you could seriously compromise the gears resulting in premature failure. If you do not have the expertise or tools it is recommended that you take these parts to a professional and have them do the job.
