Upgrading to a set of steeper ratio gears will allow your four wheel drive F-150 to enter into its power band much sooner for a noticeable improvement in low end torque and quicker acceleration. Motive's 3.73 Gears are ideal for F-150 owners who need a little more low end grunt for towing or when taking on difficult off road trails.

Each set of gears are hardness tested prior to leaving the factory to ensure the highest quality possible. Recommended Upgrade. Please note that when changing the gear ratio of your F-150's differential that the calibration of your speedometer will no longer be correct and will display the wrong speed. However, you can easily fix this annoying issue with a Handheld Tuner (sold separately).

Professional Installation Recommended. The installation of Ring and Pinon Gears can be a very intricate process, so mechanical experience is highly recommended. Follow the included instructions for best results.

Application. This 3.73 ratio Motive Gear Stock Performance Front Ring and Pinion Gear set will fit all 1997 to 2024 4WD F-150's equipped with a 8.8" (10 bolt) independent front suspension differential. A master bearing kit is recommended by most installers, especially on high mileage vehicles.

Please Note. If you are unsure if your F-150 has an 8.8 in. (10 Bolt) or a 9.75 in. (12 Bolt) differential, please check with your local Ford dealer to determine what rear is in your truck.

Technical Note. If your F-150 is a four wheel drive model, you will need to change both the front and rear gear ratios to match. Failure to do so will cause severe damage to both the transfer case and transmission. Installation costs will vary, but a good rule of thumb is between $250 and $300. Be sure to work with a reliable shop that you trust for installations.
