F250 Accessories

King Ranch (2011-2019)

The King Ranch is the truck for the tasteful gentlemen who needs a work truck but enjoys their fair share of luxury features. The most attractive feature of the King Ranch is the unique leather seating. This model is also defined by its features such as lighted cab steps, heated towing mirrors, body-colored door handles, accented bumpers, touch screen navigation and LED box lighting. This truck is truly tailored to those who want to roll off the showroom floor with an errorless truck.

Lariat (2011-2019)

The King Ranch may be a premium package offered by Ford but it’s a little much for some. The Lariat answers the customers demand for a premium truck but with a little less flare. These models feature leather seating, a touch screen navigation system, chrome front and rear bumpers, body colored door handles, heated towing mirrors and LED bed lights. As you can see, it shares a lot in common with the King Ranch but has cut some of the more expensive additions.

Limited (2018-2019)

As the trend goes with less expensive offerings, the Limited is the next step down. This model shares a lot with the Lariat but has cut down the boastfulness of some of the options. The Limited does feature leather seating, but the touch screen navigation is dialed down in size, it features standard mirrors, door handles, and bumpers. Very little flare is found in these models apart from the seating, which makes it more of a serious work truck with some pleasure and comfort in mind.

Platinum (2013-2019)

The F-250 Platinum shares more in common with the King Ranch than any other trim package in the line. It too has unique leather seating and heated towing mirrors but cuts away options like the premium navigation system, accented bumpers, and body-colored door handles. It does, however, feature a unique grille and body colored bumpers to separate it from the pack. This truck seems to be aimed at the consumers who are sold on the Lariat but still want to stand out like they would with the King Ranch.

XL (2011-2019)

Ford’s F-250 is a work truck at heart. No matter how many bells and whistles it’s stuffed with, this is the heart of the truck. If you were to strip away all of the gadgets offered by the other trim levels you would be left with the XL. The XL is the perfect choice for fleet owners in need of a cost effective way to get their hands on the legendary work horse. Standard with cloth seating, a steering wheel, and climate control, this is a far cry from luxurious but is still enjoyable to drive and hauls loads on account of it being a Ford.

XLT (2011-2019)

The XLT is aimed toward a similar demographic to those after the XL, but who see the value in some luxury features. These models are still fairly bare-bones but offer a color coordinated carpet, premium navigation, optional skid plates, spray in bed liner, and splash guards. This is less likely to be used as a fleet vehicle but more likely to be the truck of choice for contractors and other tradesmen in similar fields of work.

F-250 Engine and Drivetrain

The horsepower wars returning full swing is not something exclusive to muscle cars. Power and efficiency are just as important, if not more important in a work truck than in a muscle car. It’s the difference between getting payloads delivered on time, being able to carry the necessary equipment, or even being able to reach a job site at all. Ford has recognized this and appreciates what the work truck stands for which is why they’ve paired it with either the 6.2 liter V8 gas engine or the 6.7 Powerstroke diesel.

6.2L V8: Gone are the days when your dad’s F-250 work truck would have to climb up to the speed limit with everything the 300 straight six could offer. Today Ford is stuffing the F-250 with a gasoline V8 with the most torque in its class. The 6.2 liter puts out an impressive 385 horsepower and 430 lbs-ft of torque. This engine backs it’s get-up-and-go with a heavy duty 6-speed automatic transmission.

  • Torque: 430 @ 3,800 RPM

  • HD 6-Speed Automatic

6.7L PowerStroke Diesel: The latest model of the Powerstroke diesel is the most impressive yet. This diesel has enough torque to move the earth and it does so while producing an impressive horsepower number to match. The horsepower of this model trumps the gas option by pushing out 450 ponies. This diesel is the most powerful in its class and it matches its high horsepower with a crushing 985 lbs-ft of torque. Like the gas, this engine is backed up with a heavy duty 6-speed automatic transmission.
