This gear set with 3.42 ratio offers the opportunity for performance improvements, whether your Sierra 1500 is a daily driver, high-performance rig, or a combination of the two. Strong Construction. Richmond Gear crafts a strong 10-bolt Rear Ring and Pinion Set. It is formed from high quality 8620 steel and undergoes a heat treatment process for superior durability. This set features ring gear diameters of 8.5 in. and 8.625 in. to accommodate your rig's rear axle size.
Take it to a Pro. This rear upgrade is not ideal for someone with little to no previous knowledge of differentials. The complexity of the installation means it is best left to the professionals (mechanic or service provider). Swapping out the OE set for this EXCEL pair takes about 4 hours.
1 Year/50,000 Miles. Richmond Gear warrants your new 8.5 in. & 8.6 in. Ring and Pinion Kit against defects in material and workmanship for 1 year or 50,000 miles (whichever occurs first) from the purchase date. I wasn’t sure if I should go with 3.92 or 4.10 gears but I finally decided to get the 4.56s, and I’m glad I did. Everyone said that with 4.56 you will lose mpgs but after driving around with them my mpg has gone from 13.9 to 15, when I’m not stomping on it ??. The torque feels great and I absolutely love them, would recommend to anyone who wants to swap out their gears.

item not what i needed. see notes
so the description needs to change to better suit dummies like me. i needed bareings and the rear outer seal..this kit to me i thought was the right kit but in fact is inner bearings and seal kit. so did me no good
