How to Install BBK 67mm Throttle Body (04-06 RAM 1500 SRT-10) on your Dodge RAM

Shop Parts in this Guide

Step 1. Disconnect the TPS and IAT sensors by pulling back on the red locking clips then squeezing the tabs while pulling the plug away from the connections.

Step 2. (Viper only) Disconnect the 2 breather hoses from the rubber intake coupler.

Step 3. Loosen both of the clamps that hold the rubber intake coupler to the throttle body and air cleaner lid.

Step 4. Loosen the 2 Phillips head screws that attach the air cleaner lid to its base, then
carefully remove the air cleaner lid from the vehicle.

Step 5. Disconnect the throttle cable from its tab by pulling forward on the black cable end.

Step 6. Remove the 4 bolts that hold the throttle body to the intake manifold.

Step 7. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the bottom of the throttle body while removing it.

Step 8. Transfer the TPS sensor from the stock throttle body to the BBK unit.

NOTE: To install the TPS sensor properly, place the sensor onto the throttle body,
then rotate the body of the TPS CLOCK-WISE (approximately 5°) until the bolt
holes in the sensor line up with the threaded holes in the throttle body as
shown in the attached photos.

Step 9. Wipe the O-ring in the manifold off with a cloth to ensure it’s clean for a proper seal.

Step 10. Connect the vacuum hose to the bottom of the BBK throttle body and attach the BBK throttle body to the intake manifold using the supplied screws.

Step 11. Install the rubber intake coupler over the BBK throttle body.

Step 12. Reinstall the air cleaner lid and tighten the clamps on the rubber intake coupler.

Step 13. Connect the breather hoses.

Step 14. Plug the electrical connectors in to the TPS and IAT sensors.

Step 15. Attach the throttle cable to the linkage.

NOTE (Viper Only ):  Due to production variances in the stock intake manifold, some installations may require that you slightly bend the throttle linkage arm of the BBK throttle body to assure proper alignment of the throttle cable in the groove of the
linkage arm. This is easily achieved by pulling the arm into position by hand
as shown in the attached photos.
