Justin: Hey, guys. Justin here at americantrucks.com. And today I'm breaking down and installing the Raxiom Axial Series LED Tail Lights, available for all 2009 and 2018 RAMs equipped with factory halogen tail lights. Now, you should be checking out these options for your RAM if you're looking to ditch the boring red stockers in favor of something that will add a very aggressive appearance along with upgrading to a full LED option for better brightness and visibility, along with some bonus accent lighting. So the big features here when breaking down these tail lights will be twofold. Now, first and foremost, you're gonna be converting your old and dim factory incandescent bulbs to a tail light that's going to incorporate a 100% modern and bright LED operation. Now, the brake lights and turn signals, they're gonna be handled, thanks to this upper block.I know it's kind of hard to see because they're so dark, but there's an upper block of 12 red LEDs. Now, you can also kind of make out that there is some bonus accent lighting in the shape of these two horseshoes here. Those are going to illuminate whenever your parking lights or your headlights haven't been switched on, and they just make for a very cool running light and look really sharp at nighttime. Now, the LEDs don't stop there, guys. The bottom block of these tail lights, well, those are gonna house your reverse portion, of course, and those are also gonna be a bright white LED, which will be extremely visible both day and night. Now, the second feature here is appearance, right? They're gonna be losing the all-red factory tail lights for something that is really gonna change up that look dramatically. And that is thanks, of course, to the dark smoke lens. And this is a perfect time to segue in the construction here because, again, these lights are gonna start off with a black ABS plastic base or housing, but then it is topped off with what you really can see here, is that very dark smoke lens for the ultimate in the stealthy appearance before being sealed up nice and tight to prevent any water or condensation from building up over time. Now, despite the very dark smoke look of these tail lights, and thanks to the modern and bright LEDs, they actually still receive the DOT and SAE stamp of approval, and that will make these legal for use in all 50 states. Now, price point for the LEDs will land in that mid to high $200 range, which puts these, I would say, just below the more premium options in the category that can cost you upwards to 300 to 400 bucks. Now, switching gears, let's talk install here guys. And you're looking at a plug-and-play job.So, therefore, site is going to call this one a pretty simple one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter here, that should take you no more than 45 minutes or so to complete from start to finish. But hey, what do you say we head out to the shop right now for our detailed walkthrough and tool breakdown?Man: The tools you'll need for this project are 3/8 drive ratchet and a T25 Torx bit. Hi, everyone. Today we're installing a set of tail lights on our RAM truck, but before we do that, let's watch a short video on how to uninstall the stock tail lights first.Woman: All right, so the first step in our uninstall with your tailgate down, you can see two bolts on the inside of your tail light. This is a T25 Torx bolt. So grab a T25 Torx socket and a ratchet. Let's get these out. With the bolts out, grab your tail light and pull straight back. You'll see two connectors. Pull back on the red tab, on the top connector. Push down and remove it. Onto the bottom connector, press down on the tab, and remove this one as well.Man: All right, before we can actually install our new light, we need to transfer our tail light socket from our original light to our new light. To remove that from the stock light, we just twist it counterclockwise. And then we reverse that process on the new light, insert it, and turn it clockwise. Now we can go ahead and plug this into the connectors and we're ready to go.Now, we go can ahead and plug in our tail light socket at the bottom and our brake lights at the top. Now we go ahead and slide it back in, and we'll secure it using the original hardware. And we'll tighten them down using our T15 Torx bit. Now, just repeat that process for the other side, and you're good to go.Now, that wraps up our review and install of the Raxiom Axial Series LED Tail Lights with the Black Housing and the Smoke Lens for the '09 to '18 RAM 1500 with factory halogen tail lights. Thanks for watching, and remember, for all things RAM, keep it right here americantrucks.com.

Really good tail lights. Got them open box for 85 bucks had a few issues when I first installed them but I think that was an issue with me not connecting the lights all the way since it hasn’t happened again. Easy install.
