I only have one complaint
As other reviews have stated, they look great. The install was fairly straight forward. Now that the install is complete, I absolutely love them, and are completely satisfied with the purchase. However, After the initial install, upon door opening, steps would retract, closing the door they would extend. After the initial freakout, I looked online to see if there was a solution. It would seem that some of the wiring harnesses went out where the wires powering the motors were in reverse. The solution was to either disassemble the connector and flip the wires, or cut and swap. This solution worked. However, with this kind of price tag, it shouldn't have this kind of problem, especially several years after the initial discovery/complaints. If not for this, I would have given a solid 5 stars across the board.

Better than original factory rails!!!
I looked into several options, including the OEM rails. PowerStep Smart Series are the way to go. They look like a million bucks and operate so smoothly. I can lift my truck another six inches now and still easily get in and out of the truck. The app is awesome for when I want to put the rails down and turn on the lights like during parades or cruising the Ocean drive.

Definitely the way to go!
I had these on a previous truck and missed having them. way easier to get into my lifted truck compared to any other side step. very comfortable and safe feeling, and they look sharp when tucked up. The only issues i had was the wait time, to get them and the plugs came wired backwards. Simple fix by swapping wires in the plugs.

I had factory running boards on my truck, but the truck has a 4 inch lift. I need running boards that extend down further to work well. The PowerStep running boards are perfect. I also used the installation services provided by American Trucks...this was a easy process. I am very pleased.

Awesome steps
Installed these a week again and I love them. They come down much lower than the stock steps and when the fold up you can’t even tell they are there. The Wi-Fi feature is nice, I can raise and lower them with my phone and turn the lights on and off. Very nicely built too.

Running boards
Product is great. Installation is a challenge took my a long while to complete. Instructions are helpful but can be confusing. Would recommend talking to manufactor due to some torque specs being wrong. But still they are amazing look great wife and daughter are happy they can get in and out easier for me kind of a learning curve, because i can just step in to the truck with no issues and now the runners change how i get it. LED light are bright enought to be seen in daylight. Would recommend having a way to lift your truck to make installation easier.

Template is incorrect
The printer template for DRILLING HOLES IN YOUR TRUCK is incorrect. Check the measurements carefully. The template is not the size as marked in the template itself. It shows a measurement of 8” from bottom hole to the bed but the template was only 7 3/4” long. That’s just unacceptably inaccurate for something so permanent as holes in your truck. The size was correct when I printed the PDF. Really reduces my confidence in this product given I’m mid-installation.

Very Nice Clean Look , when it’s tucked underneath , you’re unable to the product and once it appears…. A bold statement is presented accompanied by lighting when it is dark out. Safety features are as they explained when closing it stops if foreign objects are in the way, then it resets.

Took considerable modification - and time - to fit
1. Pictures in instructions are incorrect (how sides overlap) for assembly of the main "box" frame that holds the articulating step mounting base/bracket. Just go "by feel" instead. It's obvious when you look at it. 2. I hit a large bolt head at the top of the bracket which prevented proper seating (and alignment of two mounting bolts). I had to grind a 1/8" x 1/2" area in the bracket to allow holes to line up with holes in the bumper mounting frame and allow the bracket to sit flush to mating surface. 3. It's difficult to line up with included mounting bolts. Stock bolts are tapered so they are nice for initial fitting to check things out. Then can be replaced as per instructions. 4. I had a good 1/4" interference with my left tailpipe. I had to fixture this up on my mill and end-mill (oval out) a mounting hole to allow the relative angle of the box frame to the step mounting base to be altered. This then cleared my stock tailpipe. Instructions say the tailpipe location might need modification but mine was already perfect. That's just an excuse to compensate for poor design. 5. I was really disappointed with this item and wanted to return it, but couldn't per American Trucks policy (it was modified). That's fair. 6. Three self-threading screws into plastic for the step instead of machine screws into threaded nuts? That's a cost-shaving disappointment. 7. This is a tight fit for daul-exhaust systems so be prepared. BTW, I have my own machine shop. And CNC. I regularly make steel parts. I've been wrenching on cars for 40 years. I'm an automotive engineer - and a huge motorhead. I've never seen such a train-wreck of a fitment on an after-market item.

Best Product for the Money Power Step Running Boards
I purchased the power step running boards for my wife and I. We are both getting older now and find it more difficult to enter and exit my 2016 Ram 1500 4X4 Laramie. I removed the old running boards and with the assistance from a friend was able to install the Amp Research Power Step Running Boards in an afternoon. My wife is able to enter and exit the truck without assistance for the first time ever. Thanks guys!! You have a great product. Will submit pictures and video if I can figure out how to do that.
