The CAI will work perfectly fine with the factory tune still in place, though it’ll also continue functioning if you later install an aftermarket performance tune.

Highly Effective Washable Filtration Element. The Airaid Cold Air Dam Intake includes a SynthaFlow Oiled Filter which is capable of capturing particles down to 2 microns in diameter reliably. The material used is a mix of non-woven synthetic and cotton gauze, with a red color. The filter is made so that you can periodically wash it and reinstall it to extend its service life greatly (though it is necessary to re-oil it after cleaning).

Light but Sturdy Design. The intake tube of the Airaid Cold Air Dam Intake is manufactured out of the same tough, lightweight high density polyethylene as the heat shield, giving the component a total weight of 12 lbs. The filter is a mix of cotton and synthetic fabrics in different layers. The color of most of the piece except the filter elemetn itself is black, with a textured surface matching other common trim pieces. The 4 clamps used in the CAI’s build are rust-defying stainless steel.
