2013 Ford F-250

The 2013 Ford F-250 welcomes the Platinum trim with more shiny exterior bits and posh luxury features like avant-garde heated/ventilated leather seats, wood interior trimmings, 21-inch alloy wheels, and a heated steering wheel. The Ford F-250 Super Duty is available in two or four-wheel-drive and three cab versions: four-door SuperCab, four-door crew cab, and a two-door regular cab variant. Under its massive hood is a standard 6.2-liter V8 motor with 385 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque. If you need twice as much torque for pulling or carrying heavier loads, Ford’s optional 6.7-liter PowerStroke turbodiesel V8 engine has 400 horsepower and 800 pound-feet of torque. When properly equipped, the Ford F-250 can tow up to 14,000 pounds with a conventional trailer and up to 16,800 pounds with fifth-wheel towing.

Styling Upgrades

Heavy-duty trucks are never about style, but who says you cannot improve on the rugged, go-anywhere attitude of your 2013 Ford F-250? Giving your truck a front and rear bumper upgrade not only gives it a customized look, but some aftermarket bumpers improve the approach and departure angles by trimming the bumpers closer to the body. Furthermore, aftermarket off-road bumpers are tougher with all-steel construction, capable of protecting the front and rear end from bumps, road hazards, and trail debris. Another reason why you should consider upgrading the bumpers is when the need for custom lighting arises. There are no light posts in the wilderness, and your Ford F-250 will need all the illumination it can get to conquer trails at night. Most aftermarket bumpers are ready to accommodate LED light bars, fog lights, and auxiliary lighting, while some have new lighting kits included in the package.

More Shove

For some people, having 800 pound-feet of torque from a 2013 Ford-250 diesel is not enough, but there are easy ways to unleash more power and torque while improving the gas mileage and throttle response. Intake upgrades and tuner kits can squeeze out more power from your diesel rig with a quick and easy installation. Cold air intakes suck cooler air to the combustion chambers to boost diesel engine performance. Some cold air intakes require no ECU retuning, while other brands will come with tuner kits and new sensors to match the increased airflow. Meanwhile, tuner kits will remap or recalibrate the factory ECU settings for any given application. But if you want to go all out, a stage 2 upgrade replaces the stock airbox, air filter, exhaust pipes, muffler, and factory ECU settings to improve engine performance whether on or off-road.

Keep It Tidy

The 2013 Ford F-250 has a dual personality. On the outside, the truck is all about rugged business. But inside, it has a roomy and premium cabin. You can protect the interior of your rig with a quality set of floor liners. The stock carpeting is nice, and it should be kept that way. Floor liners will help keep things tidy while protecting the carpets from dirt, stains, and spills. Floor liners feature an advanced polymer construction that is highly durable, flexible, and resistant to abuse and deterioration. They feature laser-measured proportions and are built to raise up the sides of the floor, creating a low area for water and debris to pool. Like a tray, when it is time to remove them, they are easily lifted out, dumped, wiped down and put back in (again, the raised sides of a floor liner is key to taking it in and out of the truck without spilling any of the contents).
