Justin: The SR Performance Intake that we have here is gonna be one of the most affordable ways to slap an aftermarket system on that '11 to '14 5-liter powered F-150 at home. Now, the SR intake will combine a powder-coated black intake tube, along with that reusable high-flow filter and heat shield and everything else needed for the installation for right around 200 bucks. Now, this intake does not require the use of a custom tune and will be extremely easy to install. So, therefore, expect a rather soft one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter and about an hour to complete from start to finish as we'll show you later in the video. So, in my opinion, guys, this intake is gonna be for those trucks owners who are more concerned with saving a few bucks as opposed to going with some big, flashy brand name option that might offer maybe slightly better materials for your intake tube or maybe even a more elaborate airbox design. SR, on the other hand, it's gonna be all business and the simplicity of the materials and design are gonna reflect that budget-friendly price tag. But let's talk about what's included with the SR option. And, again, you are getting that aluminum intake tube which has been finished off a textured black powder coat. You're also looking at that reusable high-flow oiled filter and a heat shield design that's going to tap into the lower portion of your factory air box. Now, I've been on record in the past in saying that this is a design I'm a big fan of because it's still gonna maintain a lot of that factory cold air ducting in the lower portion, and therefore, help pull all of that cool fresh air from the front of the truck and dump it right down into the filter here once everything's been installed. Finally, to help kind of aid in keeping things cooler in the airbox, SR does toss in some weather stripping to go around the top portion of the box itself and seal to the underside of the hood. But components aside, what else can you expect as far as benefits when installing something like this on your gen-1 coyote? Well, first off, guys, you're definitely gonna be hearing this thing in action more than a sealed airbox, thanks to that open-element design, which, again, will that increase in sound at the cost of maybe slightly higher stationary intake air temperatures. Now, if you didn't wanna hear all this extra noise or you are worried about that increase in intake air temps, well, then, you might wanna consider something with a sealed enclosure instead. But aside from that nice deep growl coming from under the hood, there's always some sort of power expectation when adding something like this. And here's what I'll say on that topic. The reality is the factory air box design has gotten a lot better over the years, is very efficient, so, therefore, expect the gains to be modest at best without using a custom tune. This means high single digits, low double digits is gonna be kind of a best-case scenario for most owners out there, but you are looking at maybe a little bit more throttle response in addition to that noise that we pointed out earlier. But before we get into the installation, I do wanna remind you guys that this intake does not require the use of a cann or custom tune. So no worries in that regard. Sure adding omething like that will ultimately add to your final power numbers at the end of the day, but that is totally your call. Now we wanna segue into that installation, and happy to say, if you have a basic set of hand tools and a little bit of mechanical know-how, you should be able to get the SR Intake in place with relative ease. And to show you more on that install, here's our detailed walkthrough and tool breakdown.Man: Tools you used for this install are: diagonal cutters, an impact or ratchet, 4-millimeter Allen socket, 8-millimeter socket, T20 Torx, 3/32 Allen, and a small flat head screwdriver. So for this install, you're gonna have to pop the hood and we're gonna have to remove the top half of the airbox and intake tube. I have a top side creeper set up here just to make my life a little easier, but you can suffice with a stepstool. As far as performance modifications go, this one's pretty basic and requires minimal tools. I'm gonna walk you through the whole process. So let's get started. So first things first, I'm gonna unclip the upper half of my airbox from the lower half by just releasing these tabs here. And then I can unplug my mass airflow sensor by releasing the red lock tab, pushing down on the plug, and unplugging it from the airbox. The next thing I need to do is disconnect all of the hoses that attach my intake tube to my intake manifold and throttle body. So what I'm gonna do is disconnect this hose here at the splitter and then I can release the quick connect fitting here on the intake tube. Finally, I can take an 8-millimeter socket and loosen up the worm screw cramp clamp at the throttle body. And now I should be able to just pull my intake tube and the upper half of my airbox out of the truck. And don't forget to take your air filter with you. There is a little bit of assembly required with this airbox and intake, so what I'm gonna do is install this weatherstripping around the top half of my new airbox assembly. This is gonna help to create a good seal between the bottom of the hood and the top of the airbox so that you get nice, clean airflow. And I'm just going to push this down around the metal edges and then I can cut it to length where it makes the turns. Now that you have the weatherstripping installed to the top half of your air box assembly, you can go ahead and install the velocity stack for the air filter into the airbox and secure it down with the 4-millimeter socket head cap screws provided in the kit. Now we can install our filter and our coupling. Now I can take my 8-millimeter socket and tighten the worm screw clamp for the filter to the velocity stack. Now I can install my silicone coupler to the back of my velocity stack and just snug that down lightly with my 8-millimeter socket. The next thing I'm gonna need to do is transfer over my mass airflow sensor from my factory intake tube into my new intake tube. I'm gonna use a T20 Torx bit to remove the two screws that hold it into the factory intake and then I'll swap it over to my new intake and install it with a 3/32 Allen bit. Make sure that the orientation of the mass airflow sensor is going the same exact way as it was for the factory and install your supplied hardware into the tube. Next, I can slide on my coupling to the intake tube where it's gonna connect to the throttle body and I'll snug down that clamp with my 8-mil socket. And then I'm ready to take this over to the vehicle. So now I'm ready to install my new air filter housing into the lower half of the airbox. I'm just gonna line up the tabs, sit it down into place, and then lock in the tabs that are on the truck. Now I'm just about ready to throw my intake tube into place and connect it to my throttle body and my air box assembly. But first thing I'm gonna do is install this provided air hose onto the barb and then I can get everything positioned and start tightening up my clamps. Now I can take that provided hose and connect it to that previously disconnected air inlet hose that I disconnected earlier and then twist my disconnect fitting and lock it into place on the intake tube. You might need to twist this hose just a little bit to get the proper orientation, but now you can install your worm screw clamps and tighten them down with your 8-mil socket. Now just make sure you reconnect your mass airflow sensor, push down the red lock tab, and your installation's complete. And that's gonna wrap up this review and install of the RedRock 4x4 Cold Air Intake with Black Wrinkle Texture, fitting your 2011 to 2014 5-liter F-150. Thanks for watching. And for all things F-150, keep it right here at americantrucks.com.

Good product
Good product. One down fall about the intake is that the vacuum barb/fitting didn't come with it to hook your vacuum hose back in. So be prepared to make a trip to an auto parts store. I believe the size is 1/2β diameter by 1/4 20 threads with 3/8β barb for the hose. I was fortunate enough that my father had fitting to spare that fit. It was a bit of a let down when you get everything installed and realize it. Not the end of the world, just sucked.

Great quality part
Only thing against the intake is that one itβs missing a fitting to connect pcv line. And second is that the fit on the stock bottom of the airbox could be more sealed and fit the clips better. That is if they are trying to make it fit the stock bottom.

Needs threaded nipple for vacuum line
I wish that American Trucks would find a way to include the needed part for the vacuum line that seems to not come from the factory. The install video is a little deceiving because they make no mention of needing this part. At least mention it and sell the part separately if nothing else. Other than that nice product for the money.

Came missing parts
Bought this to put on at the same time as some other modifications. When I went to install it, the kit was missing some small parts and it was out of the timeframe for a return. Has been sitting around taking up space ever since

Did not fit
Would not fit my filter housing on my 2014 F150 5.0 and did not have fitting for vacuum line, sent back for replacement and it did not fit housing either. Sent back for refund.
