Brake Rotor Placement | Front |
Enhanced Performance. The Slotted 6-Lug Rotors with Black Zinc Plating are designed to enhance the braking performance of your vehicle, suitable for the Silverado 1500 with rear drum brakes and the Silverado 1500. These rotors are engineered to meet or exceed OE specifications, ensuring compatibility and reliability.
Construction and Appearance. The rotors feature a slotted design that helps to clear gas, dust, and debris while improving pad bite. Mill balanced for smooth braking operation, they are also black zinc plated for added durability and corrosion resistance. This coating not only extends the life of the rotors but also provides a sleek, attractive look.
Other Features. The design of these rotors improves heat dissipation and reduces brake fade, making them ideal for drivers who demand high performance from their braking system. The slotted pattern is optimized to enhance the cooling effects while maintaining the strength of the rotor during high-stress applications.
Installation. Installation of these rotors is of medium difficulty. While they are designed for a straightforward fit, the installation might require some technical skills and proper tools to ensure they are set up correctly.
Application. This Slotted 6-Lug Rotors with Black Zinc Plating fit 2005-2006 Silverado 1500 models with rear drum brakes and all 2007-2018 Silverado 1500 models.

Review shared from SP Performance Peak Series Slotted 6-Lug Rotors with Black Zinc Plating; Front Pair (19-25 Silverado 1500)
Lol to the ppl thinking they Stay black
The coating is an anti rust coating the coating is meant to come off where the pads contact leaving the coating to prevent rust. If you think the rotors are black metal then you need to do your research. I worked with sp performance and there brakes are awesome quality they are g3000 iron same as brembo and top brake manufacturers and they offer diff coatings and slot and drilled patterns. Plus the rotors are not garbage from China they are manufactured in north America. Also if the coating melted and burned off then you clearly did not break them in an heat cycle them properly.

sloppy coating does not look like picture and clogged up all of the slots
I spent $1000 for good brakes on my truck. These looked very good to me in the picture. I assumed the black coating was something fancy. The coating is actually just PAINT. once installed and test drove. I realized that the slots are completely clogged with melted paint. i appreciate the paint on the hub of the rotor to prevent rust. But painting the pad face has completely clogged my rotor slots to the point that i need to remove them and use brake cleaner to clean the slots. VERY UNHAPPY. this was not described in the description. not instructions said that I should remove the black coating before installation. overall the rotors look nice and think. but this coating is causing me to do 2 brake jobs now. I recommend buying a NON coated rotor and painting to your liking. it will save you a lot of HASSLE.

These are direct fit replacements with slots machined into the faces of the rotors for dust/heat dispersal.

Joke!
Do not buy these if you are looking for black rotors. Not only did I have to wait a month to receive mine. When I did, I opened the box and it smelt like paint. Ended up putting them on. Not even 5 seconds of backing out of the driveway. The black on all 4 rotors was gone and stuck under the new pads.
