      Description

      Integrated Thermostat and Housing. Easily replace a malfunctioning thermostat using this integrated thermostat and housing unit and maintain the performance of your truck's cooling system. The thermostat is responsible for keeping coolant at the right temperature, and this unit can be installed with minimal tools in compatible Silverado trucks.

      Tough Housing and Reliable Thermostat. This kit features a thermostat wrapped in a high-grade aluminum housing that's resistant to corrosion and wear. The product also comes with an effective thermostat that detects the temperature of your engine's coolant.

      Medium Difficulty Installation. Installing this thermostat housing takes 1-2 hours for most mechanics and is a straightforward process. Unbolt the original thermostat from the engine block and bolt this one into position to finalize the installation.

      Wax-Based Temperature Detection. This modern thermostat relies on a wax capsule system to determine the temperature of the coolant within the engine block. As the coolant heats up, the wax melts and allows the thermostat valve to open to exchange coolant between the radiator and the engine block and lower the temperature. As temperatures lower, the valve will close again until it heats up enough to open the valve.

      Application. This thermostat assembly is designed for use in 1999-2006 Chevy Silverado 1500 vehicles equipped with a 4.8L, 5.3L, or 6.0L engine.
