Squeezing every ounce of power out of your GMC Sierra involves paying attention to the details – and blow-by of oil vapors due to high crankcase pressures is a problem solved effectively through installation of 2014-2017 Sierra oil separators. These small cans, made from precision-cut billet aluminum in many cases, are installed inline in the intake track so that the vented crankcase air passes through a mesh screen filter. This condenses out oil rather than letting it get mixed into the fuel, cutting down the octane and gunking up the interior of your engine. These oil separators include removable bases so that every 3,000 to 4,000 miles you can dump out a few ounces of oil that would otherwise have ended up in your gasoline. These parts are especially good for turbocharged and supercharged trucks, where crankcase pressures go through the roof and a lot of blow-by happens.
