Very Happy - Nice Steps
Wanted to add power steps to my new 2024 Silverado crewcab. I checked out Amp Research, ActionTrak, and these Rough Country steps. In the end, I chose the Rough Country, as they appear to be well made and also were cost-effective for my project. The install went well, but did take about 4 hours, given I wanted to check-recheck things during the install. One thing to note, the instruction set is a little misleading and lacking (not saying they are bad, just could be better). The booklet says the tools needed are a 12mm and 18mm wrench/socket, a 5mm allen wrench, and some wire cutters. The 12mm turned out to actually be a 10mm, the 18mm was never used (nor could I find any reference to it in the booklet), and the wire cutters weren't needed (but I guess I could have used them to shorten some of the wiring loom length to the battery). The install went relatively smoothly, with the only thing I had to adjust on the end was the door side magnet for the driver's door. I like the wider step and the fact that there are two motors per side, vs 1 motor per side for the Amp Research units. While there isn't any reference to the warranty in the booklet or on the RC website, I called RC and they said it was covered under a 5-year limited warranty. The support person even knew who I was, as American Trucks had shared the invoice with them to activate my warranty. I have posted a couple of photos for the before and after

Great value
I had Amp power boards on two previous trucks which I installed myself. The RC eBoards are just as good and cost much less. Besides the price advantage I didn't want to use the OBD II port because I run a Banks iDash on my 2024 Silverado 1500 3.0L LZO. The installation of the wiring harness is a little more involved because of the 4 door trigger assemblies and having to align the magnets. I had to extend the white wire, no big deal. The youTube video was a great resource and made things easier. I read some reviews where people complained about not having a delay and a clunking noise at each end of the board travel. Mine have a delay and they are quiet. I didn't need to add any of the shims. The cut-off switch is also a nice feature (Amp charges extra for that). I routed the light cables as shown in the video, but will probably drill holes into the pinch welds for a cleaner look. Quality and fit & Finish are on par with Amp. I would buy RC again.

Great product for price
I have been using these running boards for some time now and after being skeptical because these power boards are much cheaper than the competition, they are 10/10 worth it. Not too bad on the install, I would suggest watching the YouTube tutorial videos instead reading the provided instructions.

Rough Country E boards
I was impressed with the way the boards and parts were packaged, everything arrived in perfect condition with decent directions.Using a car hoist will definitely speed up the installation process as well as watching their YouTube video. The boards work great and look awesome on the truck; I have never liked the tube style steps unless the truck had a lift with big tires. My truck is a Z-71 with factory 20” wheels and it looks almost stock with these power boards. Definitely recommend them.

Nice running boards
The boards are very nice quality and the motors seem to be of good quality, the wiring instructions could be a little better but can be figured out, the wiring harness and hardware are of good quality also. The boards mount fairly easily, it's the wiring that takes most of the install time, not to difficult just time consuming. The boards look great tucked up under the rocker panel and also extended. There is plenty of room to get in and out of the truck, making it much easier. My truck has the 3"×1" leveling kit and 34" tires making. It a little difficult to get into and out of but now with the extra drop of the boards when extended it's super easy to get into and out of now! Highly recommend them good bang for the buck.

Will never go without
A must have. I will never go without those on my truck. I wish there was a delay after closing the door before they retracted. Also, I didn’t like the tiny LED they supplied for each door, so I got the OPT 7 sidekick LED strip and wired into the kit. Now the whole step lights up when the door is opened.

Awesome steps for the price.
Bought these and installed within about 3 hours. I was very impressed with the directions and the ease of install. I take a little longer to make sure everything is hidden well but it shouldn’t take very long to install. The only thing I saw that was an issue is the connector on the passenger front door wasn’t working well. I spliced in a jumper to get it to work and everything was perfect.

Rough Country Running boards
Rough Country running boards are easy to install but the wiring will take you hours. Total install time was about 5.5 hours. These were made tough and function perfectly. Have hade them for a few months now with no problems.
