How to Install Rough Country Performance 2.2 Rear Shock for 4-6 in. Lift on your F-150

Installation Time

Tools Required
  • 18mm Wrench
  • Breaker Bar with 15mm Socket
  • Ratchet
  • Rubber Mallet (optional)
  • No jack needed (lifted truck)

Included Parts:
 2 Rear Shocks
 4 Sleeves
 2 Decal stickers


Instillation Instructions:

1. Break loose top and bottom bolts using the breaker bar and 15mm socket and 18mm wrench


2. Using a ratchet, 15mm socket and 18mm wrench remove bottom bolt and nut first


3. Using a ratchet, 15mm socket and 18mm wrench remove bottom bolt and nut


4. Remove old shock


5. Insert metal sleeves into the shock bushings. (Silicone grease helps in this process)


6. Install new shock starting at the top mounting bracket and bolt on loosely.
*You may need a rubber mallet or pry bar to push shock into place.


7. Extend shock to reach bottom mounting bracket and bolt on tightly. Then tighten top bolt


8. Place decal on shock. Repeat steps 1 through 8 on other side.
