Jake: Hey, everyone, Jake here for AmericanTrucks. And in this video, we're taking a look at the RedRock Baja upper replacement grille in matte black with the LED daytime running lights and turn signal function, fitting 2009 to 2014 F-150s, excluding the Raptor. If the large stock grille just isn't quite enough for you, then this one is going to give you that big in-your-face style. This is an easy way to change up the look of your front end. It adds some additional lighting and brings some of that off-road flavor to your own truck, and it does it all for an affordable price tag. Now, I know everyone may not agree with me, but I really do like the stock styling of this gen of F-150. I think it's clean, and it carries an air of strength to it. But if you're looking for that extra something, something that's a little bit more in-your-face, this grille from RedRock is going to appeal to you. As you can see, it features an open honeycomb pattern reminiscent of Ford's own Raptor or a truck you might find pulling off jumps out in the desert. But this one also comes with additional lighting so you get these three amber LEDs right up top at the edge of the grille to add that signature off-road look to the front end, and they integrate with your daytime running lights for seamless functionality. But also, you get these large C-shaped LEDs on the outer edges of the grille, and those have a trick up their sleeve. Now, those two are going to function as daytime running lights, putting on a nice diffused white light as you cruise along. However, switch on your turn signal and the corresponding side will switch to amber, functioning as a turn signal repeater. And with these being so large, nobody's going to claim that they didn't see you signaling. Now, this is also going to be a bolt-in replacement for your stock grille, so you can just put this right on without having to modify the truck itself. You're just going to have to do a little wiring, which we'll talk more about in a few moments. Now, if you are going for that blacked-out theme, this is going to look right at home on your truck as well, because it's got this matte black finish right out of the box. Now, obviously, this does delete your front emblem. You've just got this one large wide bar across the front. But that just opens up the front of the grille a little bit, makes for a bit of additional airflow into the engine bay as well, so you have some function to go along with your form here as well.Construction here is all high-quality ABS plastic, so it's strong, lightweight, and durable. Now, that matte black finish, again, comes just like you see it out of the box, so this is ready to mount. Though, since it is ABS plastic, you do have the option to paint this pretty easily. Now, the LEDs are all weather-sealed against the elements, so they have a nice long lifespan. And since this was designed using OEM CAD data from Ford themselves, it's designed to clip right in on your truck. You don't have to modify anything. It should fit just right. Now, coming in at about $250, this is one of the more affordable replacement grilles on the market. And with the inclusion of the LED lighting here, there's no denying that it's a good value. So if you want something that is eye-catching, you want that additional lighting, and you don't want to have to spend a ton of money to get it, this is a great option for your build.Installation is going to get a two out of three on our difficulty meter, and you should plan on spending about two hours to get this job done. Now, it's definitely something a DIYer can handle at home, and everything you need comes right in the box. Now, you do have a couple of wiring harnesses here. You've got the connectors already set for the LEDs on the outside, plus another set of connectors for those amber LEDs up top. But again, you're going to have to run power on ground. You do have a fuse tap included in the kit as well. And we're going to show you how to do that right now as we head out to the install bay.Man 1: For this install, you need a ratchet, a 10- and an 8-millimeter socket, T25 socket, clip removal tool, wire strippers, wire crimpers, diagonal cutters, and zip ties. All right, today we're going to be installing a grille into our F-150. First, we're going to watch a quick video how to uninstall the stock headlights because we will be wiring into them. Then we're going to come back here to uninstall the grille.Man 2: First thing we need to do is remove the 2 headlight bolts at the top here and then one at the side, and we're going to use our 10-millimeter socket to do that. Now, with our three bolts removed, all we've got to do now is just grab hold of the light and pull it straight forward. And with our headlight removed, we can go ahead and disconnect the three connectors on the back simply by pushing down on the release lever on each of the connectors and pulling it out.Man 1: All right, now, we're going to get ready to uninstall our grille. We have 6 bolts across the top up here, they are 10-millimeter bolts, and then we also have 2 on the lower bottom of the grille here and here. Now, we have a little bit of mixed hardware. Yours isn't going to look like this, but you'll have six 10-millimeters and then two 8-millimeters. All right, so we're going to start up here on the outside. All right, then we have four in the middle here. And then one more on the outside. All right, now we have our bolt at the bottom of the bracket here, I'm going to take that off. All right, you can go do the same thing on the other side. All right, now, we're just going to grab the top of our grille and just lift it off. There's a couple of clips holding it in.All right, before we can install our new grille, we just have to swap over our lower bracket off of our factory one onto our new one. So we're going to grab our ratchet and our T25 socket and take our 6 bolts out of our bracket. All right, now, we're going to go ahead and start by putting our two bottom 8-millimeter bolts back in, and then we can put our new supplied 10-millimeter nuts up at the top. All right, now, we're going to thread our bolt back in the bracket. Grab our ratchet and tighten that down. Go ahead and do the same thing on the other side. All right, now, we'll just thread on our supplied nuts. All right, we'll take our ratchet and 10-millimeter socket and tighten them down. All right, now, we're going to start hooking up our wiring harnesses so we have our three connectors for the three lights in the middle. We're going to connect those and just run those off onto the driver's side. All right, you just take the wiring harness, just put it over our bracket for now. All right, now, we have our wiring for the side lights. We have two connectors that will plug to either side. This side will be the passenger's side, and this side will be the driver. As you can see, we do have two yellow wires that will run to each individual side for the turn signals. Now, the wiring can be a little bit messy at first, but once we get it all wired up and routed, it'll clean up. So we're going to connect our two connectors here. And then, for now, we're going to take our yellow wire for our passenger's side because this one will run separately. So I'm going to put that over the bracket here. That one itself will run down the passenger's side. Everything else is going to go down the driver's side. We have our driver-side connector here. And we can take...you can see where it breaks off into a Y. I'm going to take that and run it over our bracket with our other harness. All right, now, we can start just zip-tying and securing everything up against the hood here, and then we'll run it down the hood and towards the headlight. All right, we're going to start on our passenger's side with our single connector, just going to zip-tie it to this bracket here. All right, then we'll continue across the driver's side and secure all of this out of the way, just make sure it's out of the way of the hood latch. All right, then we're going to bunch up the rest of the wires here. We just want to come in across, zip-tie them together. Once we have them together, we can zip-tie around the mounting point for the grille. If you need to, you can do another one on the other side to make sure everything stays up out of the way.All right, while we're here, we'll just take a pair of diagonal cutters, just cut off the excess of the zip ties. All right, just continue along. We're going to take our other connector here, secure it to our bracket on our driver's side. All right, now, what we're going to do is we're going to pop a couple of clips off for the hood insulation here with our clip removal tool. Now, there's no great place to really zip-tie the harness up, so we're just going to tuck it up behind our insulation here. And once you have that tucked up, you just reinstall our clips and then continue running the wire down the fender. All right, now, you go ahead and repeat the same thing on the other side for the yellow wire to run it underneath the hood insulation. All right, now, we're just going to run our wires down our fender. As you can see, I do have a couple of zip ties just holding the wire bundled together just so it's not all loose. Zip-tie to the cable here. You can also zip-tie this bracket here for the hood switch. And we can just bring our wire right behind where the headlight goes in. Just feed it through and next to the air box.All right, now, we're going to start connecting our wiring to the harnesses for the headlight. So we have our turn signal connector. As you can see, we already have a T-tap on our wire. We're just going to connect some spade connectors, and they will connect into the connector like so. So on the driver's side, we're going to connect to the blue and green. On the passenger's side, the yellow wire will connect to the yellow and violet wire on the turn signal connector. All right, so we're going to take our wire here. It's already stripped back. If you need to, you can strip back a little bit more with wire strippers. Put our spade connector on. Grab some wire crimpers to crimp it down. You can just plug that into our T-tap here. All right, we're going to plug our spade connector into our T-tap, and then you can secure the rest of this wire out of the way with a zip tie if you want. We're just going to tuck it behind for right now. We're going to connect our other wires. Now, our other wires, we have two reds and two blacks. What we're going to do is we're going to connect our two reds together, our two blacks together with one spade connector each, and then go into our parking light. So we're going to strip these back a little bit more. We'll start with our two red connectors and two red wires, twist them together, get our spade connector, crimp that down. Do the same thing with the two black wires. All right. And we'll put our spade connector over our two black wires, crimp that down. We have our parking light here. Let's see. Our blue wire will be our negative for our black. Red goes with the white. And once again, you can secure the extra wire if you want. We're just going to tuck ours behind for right now. And now, we can reinstall our headlights. All right, now, we can plug our factory connectors back in, our headlight, our turn signal, and our marker light. Make sure the wiring is out of the way, and we can put our headlight into place. Push in, lock in the two tabs, and now we can reinstall our three 10-millimeter bolts. All right, so put our three bolts in, then we'll grab our ratchet and 10-millimeter socket and tighten them down. All right, now, you can go ahead and repeat the same thing on the other side. Just make sure you plug in the yellow wire and then reinstall the headlight. All right, that wraps up our install of our RedRock Baja upper replacement grille with LED DRL and turn signal function, matte black, for a 2009 to 2014 F-150, excluding the Raptor. Description

Forceful Baja Styling. Add forceful Baja styling to the front end of your 2009-2014 Ford F-150 with a RedRock Baja Upper Replacement Grille. Featuring a unique honeycomb style pattern, this Baja inspired Grille includes three integrated amber LEDs across the top and two uniquely shaped LED accent lights. Designed to be installed in place of your factory grille, this RedRock Grille will transform the appearance of your F-150 from a mild mannered daily driver into a mean Baja machine.

LED Accent Lighting. This Baja Style Grille also includes three high mount amber LEDs and two unique C shaped LED accent lights. The C shaped lights will act as Daytime Running Lights (DRL) and turn signal lights. The Grille includes a wiring harness that simply splices into your F-150's existing factory headlight harness. The LEDs will then automatically activate in conjunction with your running lights. These eye-catching LEDs not only look great, but will also make your F-150 more visible to other drivers at night and in poor weather conditions.

Improves Engine Cooling. This RedRock Grille not only adds great styling to the front end of your truck, but it will also increase air flow across the radiator - when compared to the stock grille. This additional air helps to improve engine cooling, which in turn improves performance.

High Quality ABS Construction. RedRock manufactures their Upper Replacement Grille from an injection molded acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) material using the original OEM CAD data to ensure a perfect fit. ABS is an extremely strong material known for its light-weight, superior durability and impact resistance - making it perfect to withstand the hazards of daily driving. Completed in a matte black finish, this Grille can be painted if desired.

Simple Straight Forward Installation. Designed to be a direct fit replacement for the original factory grille, this RedRock Grille installs reusing the stock mounting points and included hardware. There is no cutting or modifications required for a clean straight forward install. Installation can be completed in about 2 hours with just basic hand tools.

Application. This RedRock Baja Upper Replacement Grille with LED DRL and Turn Signal Function; Matte Black is designed to fit 2009-2014 Ford F-150 models, excluding Raptor. This is a replacement grille not an overlay.
