Description
Replace Your F-150’s Worn Lower Ball Joints. Ball Joints are an integral component of your F-150’s front suspension, tying the steering knuckles to the control arms. However, after years of use and abuse, it’s not common for ball joints to develop excessive play, resulting in bump steer, wandering steering, uneven tire wear, and other drivability issues. To address these qualms, consider replacing your worn components with new, Front Lower Suspension Ball Joints. These premium aftermarket ball joints are built to perform, featuring a heavy-duty design, quality materials, and a direct-fit, modification-free installation.
Heavy-Duty Construction. These ball joints feature heavy-duty construction, consisting of a sintered metal-on-metal joint rather than factory-style joints that utilize a composite liner for friction reduction. While reducing friction, this liner is prone to wear, resulting in premature play.
Smooth/Non-Knurled Body. Ball joints come in two primary designs: knurled and smooth. Knurled bodies utilize a series of small ridges that bite into the metal control arm cup, holding the ball joint securely in place, while smooth joints rely on the friction of the press fit. While both methods work well, they both have their preferred places. Knurled joints are ideal for wallowed-out or enlarged ball joint cups due to numerous replacements, while smooth joints are ideal for pressing into brand new control arms or arms that are having the ball joint replaced for the first time. This particular ball joint features a smooth body.
