Designed for Performance. The Motive Performance 8.5 in. & 8.6 in. Rear Ring Gear and Pinion Kit with 4.10 gear ratio is a great kit if you need to re-gear your truck’s differential. The ring gear and pinion are extremely tough and durable, providing high-performance while also being long-wearing. If you have a dedicated high-performance or off-road truck, these gears will serve your re-gearing requirements.
High-Quality 8620 Steel Construction. The 8.5 in. & 8.6 in. Rear Ring Gear and Pinion in the kit are made from high-grade 8620 steel. Precision-machined and heat-treated according to Motive Performance’s usual high quality, these gears are exceptionally tough and long wearing. Additionally, their precise manufacturing ensures a perfect fit and high-performance.
Recommended Upgrade. The kit only contains the ring gear and pinion and purchasing a Motive Gear Differential Install Kit is highly recommended.
Professional Installation Recommended. Re-gearing the differential whether to replace worn gears or improve performance is a complex process. For the best results, installation by a professional mechanic is highly recommended.
Includes 2-Years or 100,000 Miles Warranty. The 8.5 in. & 8.6 in. Rear Ring Gear and Pinion Kit is warranted to be free of defects in materials or workmanship. Exclusions will apply.

Great for lofted trucks
I drive a 6in lift 4.8 Silverado 4x4 with 35 in tires. I went from a 3.42 to a 4.10 because I lost power but as soon as I swapped them out it felt like the heart of my Chevy was reborn

This is the one you need!
Various shim sizes were more than adequate. Bearings and races responded well to freezing and installation with no issues. Everything was vacuum sealed in a neat and orderly fashion. Everything fit as required.
