Levi’s 1996 F-150 Make-A-Wish® Build
Fulfilling a Wish With Mods
Breathing life into a tired-out old truck was the mission for Make-A-Wish® recipient Levi and his 1996 Ford F-150. When Levi was presented with the chance to have his truck transformed, he initially declined the offer suggesting another more deserving candidate for consideration of this once in a lifetime opportunity. With a little coaxing from family (specifically his dad) and friends, Levi handed over the keys to his old green truck so the team at AmericanTrucks could get to work.
Step 1 - Putting the Pieces Together
>Levi’s F-150, albeit worn-out from years of duty, was a surprisingly good platform for a Make-A-Wish® build with its solid body and frame. After some light bodywork, a coat of Magnetic Gray Metallic- a factory Ford color- was applied to the truck before re-gearing the differentials and engine mods. The original pushrod mill was removed for maintenance and repairs before installing a new Ford Performance E303 cam, intake manifold and Cold Air Intake. After installing the freshly re-geared differentials came time to bolt up the Rough Country 4-inch lift kit and Flowmaster Exhaust to add some American thunder. Buttoning up the interior with a new stereo, seats, gauges and headliner made the cabin of Levi’s truck homey once again. Time to address the exterior lighting- blacked out headlights and taillights along with black bumpers, Westin Step Bars and billet grille all add to the menacing look this F-150 personifies. all add to the menacing look this F-150 personifies.
Step 2 - Revealing the Completed Build
Levi’s F-150 was kept under a cover until its grand reveal at Turn5’s Corporate Employee BBQ. When it came time to pull the cover off, Levi’s jaw dropped leaving him practically speechless from the site of his rebuilt rig. Levi, along with family and friends, crawled all over his rejuvenated ride pointing out all of their favorite features. Needless to say, the reveal was a huge success and the AmericanTrucks and Turn5 team couldn’t be any prouder to be a part of Levi’s wish. Enjoy your modified F-150, Levi!
