You won’t need to service it until after the first 100,000 miles, though some types of driving may clog it up with dirt and grime, meaning you need to clean it sooner.

No Tune Needed. A plug-and-play component, the K&N Series 77 High Flow CAI can be fitted to your F-150’s 4.6L engine and start offering power gains immediately. The cold air intake will function strongly and problem-free with the stock tune still in place. However, upgrading to a specialized tune will squeeze a few more horsepower and ft-lbs of torque out of the setup.

Many Useful Traits. With a built-in heat shield, mandrel bent aluminum tubing, and a huge conical air filter, the K&N Series High Flow Cold Air Intake is built to deliver lots of air reliably to your truck’s motor. The filter itself is washable and reusable, so you can remove it, clean it, oil it, and return it to the CAI during the component’s life. The intake develops a strong air charge for higher power and acceleration.

Built for Long, Strong Service. Premium materials are used in the K&N Series High Flow Performance CAI, including rust-proof polished aluminum for the intake tube. That tube looks great in your engine, besides functioning well. The included clamps consist of stainless steel for long-term durability. The round filter is made from red cotton gauze, with an oversized design to allow plenty of airflow. The gauze is oiled and sandwiched between two aluminum screens to make it stronger.

Includes a MAF Housing. The K&N Series 77 Performance Cold Air Intake includes the necessary space to mount the factory mass air flow sensor of your 2009-2010 F-150. There are also attachment points for the crankcase vent hose and the air temperature sensor.

Fast Bolt-On Install. The K&N Series 77 High Flow Performance Cold Air Intake bolts on directly in place of the stock air box. Installation uses hand tools and a bolt-on approach, using the included hardware provided with the kit. Total time for the swap is 1.5 hours (90 minutes) or less.

It can be used in the state of California and in other jurisdictions where CARB regulations apply. Note that not all variants of Series 77 intakes are CARB compliant, though this one is.

Application. This K&N Series 77 High Flow Performance Cold Air Intake is specifically design to fit the 2009-2010 F-150s powered by the 4.6L 3V (3-Valve) engine. 4.6L Application Note. To determine what version of the 4.6L is in your truck, you would need to refer to your VIN number. If the 8th digit in the VIN # is "W" it is the 4.6L 2V. If the 8th digit in the VIN # is "8" it is the 4.6L 3V.

Technical Note. The K&N Cold Air Intake is not designed for vehicles equipped with a Body Lift.
