Hey, what's going on, guys? Adam here with AmericanMuscle.com. Today, I'm bringing you a detailed review and install of the K&N Series 77 High Flow Performance Cold Air Intake, available for all 2015 and newer 5-Liter F-150s. So in this video, I'll be going over the functionality and expectations of the K&N Series 77 as well as the materials and construction. And I'll even touch on the installation, which I'll tell you upfront will get a solid one out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter. So let's just right into it.The K&N Series 77 High Flow Performance Cold Air Intake is gonna be for all 2015 and newer 5-Liter V8 F-150 owners out there looking to replace their factory airbox system with an overall improved air quality that is specifically designed to be 50-state legal without requiring a tune. The K&N Series 77 option I have with me today is a complete upgrade from your factory option, replacing all components of your factory airbox, giving you an overall improved airflow with a very high-quality material. It offers a free-flowing classic K&N Series filter here, a very well-known filter from K&N, top-of-the-line stuff, as well as an aluminum, high-quality airflow tubing here to improve the airflow quality as well as the filtration. Now, all this combined offers you something that the airbox from the factory does not offer with a free-flowing option that gives you a little bit more horsepower that I'll touch on in just a second, all with a lot of bang for your buck.Speaking of no tune required, this option does utilize a mass airflow, instead of the speed density. Now, with that said, it does not require a tune. I also don't want you to think that this one will make the world of difference when it comes to power and torque. It will make, however, single digit gains at best as well as a slightly improved throttle response and maybe even some fuel mileage, all while giving your engine a more aggressive and attractive sound, which, of course, is always a plus. Now, what differentiates the Series 77 from some of the other K&N options on the market is simply because this one is gonna be 50-state legal. If you are located in an emissions-restrictive state, like California, this one is gonna be road-legal and will work with your laws and regulations in your area. So this one will be able to hook on to your 5-Liter V8 and do some work.Moving on to materials and construction here, expect a washable, oiled filter directly from K&N, giving it some of the topnotch materials on the market with a treated cotton gauze sandwiched between two epoxy-coated wire screens for durability. And of course, it has specially treated oil treatments on the cotton to give it a clumped material effect, giving it the absolute maximum amount of filtration possible, which makes K&N one of the topnotch air filters on the market. Now, you'll also notice the tubing is a very mirror-like, shined, attractive finish on an aluminum tubing, unlike some of the other options that are polyethylene and some of the other plastics, like the ABS. Now, with that said, the aluminum is bent perfectly, so that it does offer an enhanced airflow over your factory option, so there's an upgrade there as well. Now, as far as the pricing goes, expect to be spending just shy of 350 bucks, which puts this one right in the middle of the pack, compared to the other options on the market for your 5-Liter V8 F-150. Now, with that said, if you are looking to spend a little bit of extra money, you can get the tune-required options to give you a little bit more power and performance. But this one here, the Series 77, caters into the hands of the guys out there in emissions-friendly states and looking to abide by the laws there without using off-road use only.As far as the install goes here, expect to get this one done in about 30 minutes tops in the driveway at home with a simple ratchet and socket set as well as a flathead screwdriver, which is why this one gets a one out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter. All this one truly entails is you using that flathead screwdriver to unclamp your factory tubing, unbolting everything down to the airbox and air filter, setting all the factory stuff aside, because all the new hardware is provided for you in the kit from K&N. Put everything back together with the aftermarket option in reverse order using that new hardware, bolt everything down, clamp everything down, reattach all connections, and you're good to go. Everything said and done, again, 30 minutes tops, a one out of three on our difficulty meter.Well, just to wrap things up here, if you're the owner of a 2015 or newer F-150 with a 5-Liter V8 engine and you're looking for a way to replace your factory airbox with a new and improved airflow while staying 50-state legal, without requiring a tune, you might wanna check out the K&N Series 77 High Flow Performance Cold Air Intake, available right here at AmericanMuscle.com.

Serious Performance Boost. This K&N Series 77 High Flow Performance cold air intake greatly enhances the power of your current truck. Lock it into place and you can raise your overall power levels by as much as 13.86 HP. That's a pretty serious figure that you'll notice after installation. The kit directs a larger volume of air into your engine for a major power enhancement.
No Tune Up. A tune up is a good investment for your vehicle, but it isn't necessary to get this intake setup to work. The high volume intake goes onto a standard vehicle without doing any damage. Forget about the intakes that require tuning, this one is rock solid.
Layered Protection. This intake comes with a premium cotton filter that's heavily oiled to trap particles before they can pass. It's capped with aluminum screening and designed for high flow with excellent filtering all in one.
Tough Construction. The K&N Series 77 High Flow Performance cold air intake is designed for performance and strength. The high flow intake tube is made from wide aluminum that's corrosion resistant and creates smooth air flow. The heat shield of the unit is rugged molded plastic and the tough filter is a mix of aluminum and cotton. The kit makes use of tough stainless steel clamps and rugged materials overall.
Installs Fast. This K&N Series 77 High Flow Performance cold air intake can be put on in around one hour without trouble. That's because it just bolts into position and does not require special tools to get the job done.
Protection for a Lifetime. Thanks to the one million mile limited warranty from K&N, this intake system is very protected.
50 States Legal. This set can be used in any of the 50 states legally thanks to its CARB certification. Certification # D-269-4 is what makes this system so special.

Easy Install - Sounds Beautiful
Quick to install, and sounds great. The super glue part was maybe a little messy, maybe there’s a better way to do it I don’t know. Overall a great purchase.

Cold air Intake
Beautiful looking CAI, made my fuel mileage go from 19mpg to 15, was disappointing there, also made my throttle lag off the bottom, until I put a BBK 90mm throttle body on with it, now it’s crisp and definitely a noticeable difference in performance

Good product
Easy install. Adds quite a bit of throat to the exhaust. Don’t feel too much change in power other than a bit better throttle response, but sounds and looks great!

Easy to do!!
It only took between 30-45 minutes total, from removing the factory air intake to completing the K&N intake kit. I have a 2020 5.0 and I did make the factory crankcase hose work. It was totally easy to install and would definitely recommend this to anyone.
