Description

No Tune Required. Unlike other cold air systems on the market, this Injen Evolution Cold Air Intake requires no custom tuning or re-programming of your EcoBoost’s computer to operate. Simply bolt it on and you are ready to go, enjoying better fuel economy and performance with the turn of a few wrenches.
Efficient Power Filter. Injen includes an oversized, cone-shaped, SuperNano-Web dry air filter made from a proprietary media that includes and high-flow base media with a highly efficient Nano membrane applied on top. Its heavy-duty construction offers long service life and multiple cleaning cycles. Moreover, it is designed for excellent filtration capacity with its layered synthetic media. Its pleated configuration enables high dust holding capacity for improved performance.
Long-Lasting Functionality. This Evolution Cold Air Intake is composed of high-quality components for long-term functionality. Injen uses tough housing to protect the system against the hotter air around the engine. Moreover, the dyno-tuned intake tube is made of smooth, rotomolded material for more efficient airflow. Easy install, sounds great with the turbos. The temp sensor didn't reach the cutout on the intake but it was a easy fix. Put it on a 2017 F150.

Fits but doesnt fit
Do not buy this intake if you have a 2018 F150 3.5l EcoBoost engine unless you know how to solder wires, heat shrink cabling covers, and have some black zip ties. The mass air flow sensor port to this intake is about 9 inches farther away than the OEM port on the factory intake. Therefore there is not enough wiring from the original mass airflow sensor wiring to reach the hole/port on this intake. I had to buy additional wires and shrink tubing to extend out the original wiring. Also there are two snap connections on the top back of the OEM factory air box. These two hole are not on the new intake airbox. I had to remove these, put electrical tape on the OEM wire to cover the gap and then zip tie the wire together to bring it taught and take up the slack. My truck gets an average of 19 miles per gallon city and highway. I know this for a fact since I have a lariat. After 500 miles with the new i take I'm getting 0.5 miles per gallon better gas mileage on average between city and highway . This intake does have a gauge on it to tell you when to clean it but i haven't driven the truck long enough to determine its accuracy. The actual intake fits great but the wire connections do not. I expected more after spending 350ish bucks on an intake system.

Great Addition
This unit makes a more throaty nose and power seems to be a little more responsive. Mileage also seems to have been improved -- but I have only had this installed for a couple of weeks. I did have one towing usage and mileage was slightly improved.

Good air filter
I've had this filter on my 2014 ecoboost for 3 years 30,000 miles. Still the Guage for clean is in the green. Would like to know if I could use delta tune up kit on the filter still?

my review
Installed according to the instructions then realized it was easier to do install it the other way. Getting the couplers on is a pain you have to start them and turn them like putting tires on a wheel. Once they are on I can not see anyway they can pop off even with out the clamps they fit that tight. I haven't noticed a difference in power or torque. I haven't had this CAI long enough to have to clean the filter element but I'm really liking the idea of the monitor .

Injen EVO on 2011 Ford F-150 3.5 Ecoboost
The system looks really clean and neat under hood. The filter minder gauge is a good idea. The filter is dry and is supposed to be cleaned with a shop vac or compressed air. Installation instructions were fair but there are some differences between 2011 model and others (in regards to the MAF) that were not clear. I had to make call to MFR's tech help. Hose connections were a very tight fit and required some wrestling and a little lube. Could not tell if their was performance gain but I trust the theory of increased air flow.

Nice intake kit.
Installed easily on my 2013 FX4 EcoBoost. It has all the parts to install on an 11-12 model and a 13-14 model. I was very pleased with the quality of the parts and they all fit together nicely. I do like the design of the unit, clearly some thought was put into it. Performance gains are going to be minimal - not really a bottleneck on a stock truck, but all mods work together on these motors so they stack up. Nice quality filter should last a long time and I love that it has a filter change indicator.

Not all expected
The product fit perfect, except for the four screws to connect the upper box to the lower box of air intake. The screws bottomed out and I still had a quarter inch of gap. Had to add 3 small washers to each of the screws to get it flush. Then noticed the top and bottom seemed slightly warped and not even. (Top and bottom of box). Sad since they boast "Made in America"! Honestly, I don't see the big deal! The stock and the Injen are almost the same thing with exception of the gauge for the filter. Little more of an opening to suck in more air. It's nice! It fit to the truck very well, I just don't think it was worth $330 when all said and done. Little less money and it would have been worth the it. Guess I could have stuck with the stock. Very nice looking, just could have used the money for something else more needed on the truck. Hope you have better luck.
