      Description

More Power. Unlock the hidden power potential that your vehicle has to offer, with a Hypertech Max Energy Spectrum Power Programmer. The Max Energy Spectrum Power Programmer comes preloaded with Hypertech's very own pre-configured tune files. In order to increase engine efficiency, horsepower and torque, Hypertech engineers first optimize the spark and fuel curves point by point over the entire rpm band. With the additional power and optimized transmission functions, drivers use less fuel to accelerate and maintain cruising speeds without the torque converter un-locking and transmission down-shifting to a lower gear. The results are maximum power and fuel mileage.

Tuning For Popular Air Intakes. Cold air intakes change the air velocity and the volume of air passing over the Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor due to the shape and size of the ducting around the MAF sensor and even the type of air filter used. Retuning the engine calibration for specific popular cold air intakes that are installed is necessary to correct the MAF readings and to take advantage of the increased airflow.

Speedometer Calibrator. If you have installed tires that are larger or smaller than original equipment tires, or if you have installed a ring and pinion gear set with a different rear gear ratio, the Max Energy Spectrum Power Programmer allows you to re-program for correct speedometer and odometer readings, as well as correct part-throttle shifting. The vehicle’s computer calculates your speed based on the diameter of the stock tires. If you’ve installed taller or shorter tires, or changed the rear gear ratio, the vehicle’s computer doesn’t know how fast your vehicle is actually going. As a result, the automatic transmission may not shift correctly and the speedometer/odometer readings will not be accurate.

TPMS Threshold. Larger than stock tires often times will have a different tire pressure than the smaller stock tires. The Max Energy Spectrum Power Programmer allows you to adjust the TPMS warning threshold when larger than stock tires are installed.

Top-Speed Limiter. Automobile manufacturers limit a vehicle’s top-speed to match the speed rating of the factory-installed tires. If you have installed tires that have a different speed rating, the Max Energy Spectrum Power Programmer allows you to raise or lower the vehicle’s top-speed limiter to match the speed rating of the newly installed tires. A tire’s speed rating for maximum safe speed under perfect conditions is marked on its sidewall. Always obey all traffic laws when driving and only use this feature for off-highway competition in sanctioned events.

      Transmission Adjustments.

Shift Firmness Tunes - These settings allow you to customize the shift firmness and quickness to how you want. Adjust shift firmness for driving conditions from towing, daily driving, to maximum performance under full throttle acceleration.

Shift Response - Tailors the transmission’s upshift and downshift response time to fit your driving style and conditions. Dial in your shifting towards economy, improved towing, or even increased performance.

TCC Slip Tunes - During normal driving the transmission algorithms allow the torque converter clutch (TCC) to slip rather than fully lockup. This is done to dampen the engine vibrations, but can also cause other issues that degrade the performance and/or economy. By adjusting these algorithms, Hypertech allows you to customize the tuning exactly how you want.

1-4 Skip Shift - Remove the ability for the ECM in manual transmission vehicles which, to improve fuel economy and under light engine loads at very low speeds, forces the shifting mechanism to cause a 1-4 shift instead of a 1-2 shift.

Shift Points - The Max Energy Spectrum allows you to raise or lower the shift points in 100 RPM increments for maximum performance, quicker acceleration, and better 1/4-mile times. With the Max Energy Power Programmer, you have the ability to customize the shift points for every gear. Optimizing each shift point can definitely improve performance.

Fuel Management Systems. For improved fuel economy, GM vehicles use the Active Fuel Management System (AFM). This system allows the engine to turn into a fuel sipping 4-cylinder during light load conditions such as steady speed cruising. These systems have major benefits in fuel economy, but with a sacrifice in drivability when in V4 mode, and during the transition to V8 mode. The Max Energy Spectrum Power Programmer allows you to adjust the minimum speed at which the V4 mode activates. Adjusting the minimum speed higher would prevent the V4 mode from activating while the road noise is low and V4 exhaust note is noticeable. Activating at a higher speed would allow for full benefit of the Max Energy engine tuning in V4 and V8 mode at those higher speeds where the exhaust sound isn’t as noticeable. The V4/V8 mode can also be disabled completely as well.

0-60 Throttle Restriction. The "selectable throttle restriction" tunes the engine control systems for better low speed performance without sacrificing driveability, but it does not disable the torque management completely. There are many different torque management systems active at any given time while driving. During our tuning development Hypertech altered most of these systems in different combinations to assess the impact on performance, and driveability. We took the best combination of those changes and combined them with further tuning to improve the overall performance and driveability under all driving conditions. The overall affect was so dramatic we felt that all customers would benefit more if the changes were user selectable rather than "forced."

RPM “Rev” Limiter. In today’s vehicles, the onboard computer controls maximum engine rpm. The stock computer is programmed to shut down the engine when it reaches its redline. But if you have modified your vehicle to increase its high-speed performance, more rpm means more power. When you shift gears with the stock rpm limit, the engine falls back to below the peak of its horsepower curve. When you extend the engine’s rpm range with the Max Energy Spectrum Power Programmer, your engine has more power available after gear changes. By adjusting the maximum rpm to keep the engine in the “sweet spot” of its power curve, you can increase the average horsepower that accelerates the vehicle.

Cooling Fan “On/Off” Temperatures. The Max Energy Spectrum Power Programmer allows you to adjust the “on/off” temperatures of your vehicle’s electric cooling fans to match a lower temperature thermostat, such as a Hypertech PowerStat. A low-temperature thermostat produces a cooler, denser intake charge, and is less likely to detonate under heavy loads and allows the engine to make more power.

Diagnostics Tool. The Max Energy Spectrum Power Programmer can also be used as a diagnostic code reader. Save yourself time and money by reading and clearing your own Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) rather than paying a dealer to do the same. It's as easy as a few simple steps.

Easy to Load; Easy to Restore. When you load your Hypertech tune on your vehicle, the Max Energy Spectrum Power Programmer automatically stores your vehicle's factory settings. To return to the original factory settings, just plug the tuner back in, select the option to restore the factory settings, and you're done. This is ideal for visiting dealerships for warranty work. Once you have the vehicle back from the dealership, reinstall the Max Energy Power Programming as before. Please note that the Max Energy Spectrum Power Programmer can only be used on one (1) vehicle at a time.

Internet Updateable. The Max Energy Spectrum Power Programmer comes with a USB cable to enable quick updates over the internet. If your vehicle has a new calibration not available when your Max Energy Spectrum Power Programmer was manufactured, it is possible that you will see a “Cal not found” message on the Max Energy screen. If this occurs, you can simply update your Max Energy with the correct new calibration via the internet. Simply connect the Max Energy (using the provided USB cord) to your computer and go to www.hypertech.com. Then click on the Support button to get update downloads.

On-The-Fly Quick Commands. Please note the Max Energy Spectrum MUST remain plugged into the diagnostic port for on-the-fly features to function. On-the-fly features below are NOT available in all applications. The year of the vehicle will determine the features available for that application.

Idle RPM Override - Allows instant adjustment of the engine idle speed, on-the-fly, when you need full power from your alternator for winching or welding, and then go back to normal when you disconnect it. This can be pretty handy if you just need a little higher idle for a few minutes, and don’t have time to go through the entire programming sequence.

Diff Lock Control - For more power to all 4 wheels, you can choose to lock front and rear differential lockers in 4L, 4H, or 2WD mode.

Traction Control - Eliminates the factory traction control, so you can control your throttle and braking without computer assistance.

Disable TPMS - Disable the TPMS warnings when using aftermarket wheels without TPMS sensors.

Engine Fan Control - Manually override the engine cooling fan operation. Keep it on or turn it off regardless of engine temperature.

Application. This Hypertech Max Energy Spectrum Power Programmer is designed to fit 2007-2009 6.0L Chevrolet Silverado 1500 models.
