The 2018 F150 received a number of power bumps in the engine lineup. The 5.0L Coyote for example received a secondary fuel injection system, now sporting both port and direct injection. The block was slightly bored out, specifically 93mm worth, as well as an increase in compression ratio. The 2.7L EcoBoost also received port injection on top of direct injection to help reduce carbon build-up as well as some PCM changes to increase power.
The 2018 F150 submodels are numerous with the toughest of them being able to tow 13,200 pounds. Ford put their truck on a diet, shaving 700 pounds off the truck from the previous year. The biggest change resulting in the lighter weight is the aluminum body, but don’t think the 2018 F150 has lost any of its strength. The frame is reinforced steel to keep reliability as legendary as always. Submodels include the XL, XLT, Lariat, Raptor, King Ranch, Platinum, and the Limited.
