Review shared from DV8 Offroad Fairlead Mounted Flip Up License Plate Mounting Bracket (Universal; Some Adaptation May Be Required)
My play toy
I was so happy when I found this mount. I really didn't want to drill extra holes in my brand new prerunner bumper. The bracket was very easy to install, somewhat hides the fact that I have a winch inside the bumper, and the license plate flips easily up and out of the way. I already told two of my friends who were in the same situation. Great product

Not what you would expect
Let me start by saying that this is a solid bumper. The look and feel of it are great. However, as a recovery bumper, there are some glaring issues. First off there is zero access to the spool lock on a winch. I have a Warn 12K winch installed and there is no way to get to the spool lock. The only way to access it is if you took the grill off or cut a hole in the bumper. Second, you will have to relocate the winch control box. There is no room to mount the winch control on top of the winch. Again you would need to relocate it, which will require an extension kit so bear this in mind when planning a build. Last of all, it is not a welded bumper. This is not displayed in the site photos nor is it in the description. It ships as a three-piece design that is both easy to put together and feels very solid. You will need to take care when installing as the wings need to be tightened progressively in a cross pattern to make sure they remain level. There is nothing wrong from a manufacturing standpoint I just wish it was what was displayed in the pictures. Overall it is a good bumper for the price. You do get what you pay for, a solid bumper that leaves something to be desired in terms of features.

Definitely needed
It’s definitely well worth the money. Saved me thousands in repairs and saved me and my girlfriends life, after I got into a head on collision. Just some scratches and a dent. And the reason why there’s a gab between the headlights/grill and the bumper is so when you do hit something the bumper has room to push up so it doesn’t pitch/destroy the headlights/grill. All I need is a new bumper, but the other guy needs a new car. I would definitely suggest buying this. Let’s not forget how good it looks as well

DV8 4x4 bumper silverado
Looks great, built tough love it. Not as easy and it could be to install, but not real hard either. Looks great. Inner fender well will be exposed, so you have to decide what you are going to do with that.

Not like the picture
I received my bumper and it is not like the one in the picture. It came in 4 pieces and had to be bolted together.

Looks good, doesn’t last.
Installed this bumper in Aug of 2019, it’s June of 2020 now. The paint has already started lifting and rust is setting in. I live near Chicago so I’m no stranger to rust, but the rust is on the top of the center section. Looks good on the truck, and it’s heavy steel, but I’m guessing in the next year or so I’ll have to pull it off and repaint it. Pretty upsetting given what was paid for it, and having it start to rust less than a year later. The fog lights are nice, but they’re likely for off road use, they shine way out to the sides. One day when I pull it off to repaint it, I’ll cut some holes for lights that shine a little straighter. Overall, it’s alright, just wish the finish was better.
