Hey guys, it's Sara with americantrucks.com, and today we have a review and install of the Barricade S6 Running Boards in black, fitting your '19 and newer Silverado 1500 crew cabs, excluding the Legacy models. These are perfect for the Silverado owner looking to add the convenience of a step to their truck and wants a running board-style option with a sleek black finish. It features a one-piece design with a single stepping surface for ease of entry, especially if your truck is lifted or leveled, and adds a bit of side protection against door dings as a bonus. These steps feature steel construction with a black finish and six-inch-wide black non-slip step pads. And as far as price goes, these steps come in at around $400 for the pair, which is low to middle of the road price-wise when compared to other options. And for your money, you are getting a running board-style step with a nice wide stepping surface and sleek black finish. And as far as the install goes, I'm giving this one a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. It does feature a direct bolt-up install that can be done within two hours. So with that said, let's check out our install. For this install, we used an electric ratchet, although a hand ratchet will work just fine. You'll also need a 13-millimeter socket. All right. So the first step in our install is to grab our brackets and get them bolted up under the truck. Now, these are side-specific, and since we're on the passenger side, we're looking for the bracket marked P that should be in this configuration. So let's go ahead and get them bolted up. All right. So now that we're underneath our truck, we're going to line up the bracket to two threaded holes. Now, if you don't see threaded holes, you may see these plastic covers. All you have to do is pull back to remove them and it should reveal two threaded holes in the body. Grab your bracket, line it up over both the holes. This may be a little bit hard to see, but now we're going to install the hardware. We're using one of the hex head bolts with a washer and a lock washer. Go ahead and get them threaded in. Then with a 13-millimeter socket, go ahead and tighten these down. Now we're moving on to the next mounting point. You'll see two more threaded holes in the body. Again, if you don't have these exposed already, you may need to move some rubber grommets to get to them. Grab your hardware, hex bolt, lock washer, washer. Go ahead and thread it into these holes. And with your 13-millimeter socket, go ahead and tighten these down. And moving on to your third mounting point, same thing, threaded holes in the body. Line up your bracket, thread in your bolts. So there is quite a bit of adjustability with this bracket, so if you do need to adjust it later on to adjust your step, you can loosen these bolts and make your adjustment. Grab your 13-millimeter socket and let's tighten these down. And finally, there are two sets of threaded holes towards the back here. We're going to go to the farthest ones, line up our brackets, and thread in your hardware. Grab your 13-millimeter socket and tighten it down. With our brackets in place, we can now set our step on top of the brackets. Make sure you keep a hand on this as you're lining it up and bolting it down because the brackets are slanted so it's possible that it can slide off. Now we can bolt our steps to our bracket. We're using these bolt plates, and they do have a hook on either side. Make sure that it's grabbing both sides of your step and then install your hardware, a washer, and a lock nut. Now there is quite a bit of adjustability in this step. We are going to tighten these down now, but if you need to adjust your step at any point later on, you definitely have the room to do so. With a 13-millimeter socket, go ahead and tighten these down. Repeat that for the rest of your mounting points. Grab your 13-millimeter socket and tighten it down. Moving on to the next mounting point, get your bracket lined up and installed. And with your 13-millimeter socket, go ahead and tighten it down. And finally, install the bracket at your last mounting point. Again, make sure it's hooked on both sides. Grab your 13-millimeter socket and tighten it down. All right. Now that we completed the install on the passenger side, repeat all of those steps on the driver's side. And then that's going to do it for the review and install of these running boards. And remember, for all things Silverado, keep it at americantrucks.com.
