Hey, guys. Adam here with americantrucks.com, and today we're taking a quick look at and installing the Barricade Skid Plate for the HD Off-Road Front Bumper, available for the '15 to '17 F-150. You should be checking this out if you already own or looking to pick up a Barricade Off-Road front bumper and want some additional undercarriage protection with an added bonus of this skid plate here from Barricade. It is specifically designed for the Barricade HD front bumper to bolt to the pre-existing holes on the bottom lip of the bumper, and then back to your front crossmember. This is gonna add some protection to the undercarriage of your F-150 because we all know that not every road is completely flat. If you're hitting the trail, sometimes you're going up and down, it has some pretty uneven terrain, in which case you're putting your undercarriage, some of the underbody components of your F-150 at the front end in danger of being damaged by some of those off-road trail hazards and obstacles. Now, keep in mind, guys, this also applies to on-road driving. How many times are you driving down the highway and you see some road debris in front of you that may cause some damage to the underbody of your F-150 if you didn't have a skid plate? And now you can throw this onto the bottom side of your F-150 if you have that Barricade Off-Road front bumper to add some steel plating. This is a really durable steel plate with a black powder-coated finished in a textured black that's gonna give it some corrosion and rust resistance and it matches perfectly with the finish of the Barricade HD Off-Road front bumper. Now that's key there, guys. It's not for the factory bumper, it's not for other aftermarket off-road front bumpers, specifically for that Barricade option there, which is a really popular one in the off-road front bumper category. We all know that that front bumper has modular components to it and this is just one of the many bonuses that you can add to that front bumper. So, consider checking it out if you're in the market for some front end protection. Now, this one comes in right around 150 bucks and the install gets a very easy 1 out of 3 wrenches on our difficulty meter. Anybody can tackle this in the driveway at home with about 15 to 20 minutes from start to finish, as long as you already have that Barricade bumper on. Just a quick mention here, guys. Our '15 F-150 is lifted about 4 inches, so we have some drop brackets here to adjust for that suspension. So, ours looks a little bit different than yours, but the installation is still identical. Just keep that in mind when you're looking at our truck versus what you may see in your driveway. I'm gonna show you guys every step of this install, but it is assuming your Barricade bumper is already installed. If you're just picking that bumper up for the first time and you wanna see how that gets done, we have a separate video for that that you can check out to walk you through that whole install and then come back here for the installation of the skid plate. Again, 20 minutes or so from start to finish once that bumper is in place. I'm gonna show you what it looks like. Let's get to it.Tools used in the install include an impact gun, you can use the Allen key included in the kit or a matching socket, and a flathead screwdriver. Now, of course, the first step is to make sure your bumper is already installed. But once it is, you can grab the hardware included in the kit for the skid plate. We're gonna slide on these U-nut clips right on the frame here. And if you need to, you can use a flathead screwdriver to help push this guy on. Wanna go through the open square first and then guide the threading over to the hole next to it just like that. And we're gonna do the same thing for this square. Perfect.Next step, grab your skid plate. We're gonna feed this guy toward the front crossmember first and then line it up to the holes underneath the front lip of the bumper. The nuts are already welded on the top of the skid plate there, so just line those nuts up to the holes. Grab the bolts included in the kit, and we're gonna tighten these down by hand. Now, these include a split and flat washer, so make sure those are on the bolt head side as well. Just tighten these guys down by hand for now.All right. Next, you wanna lift the back end up, line it up with the holes that you just installed with those U-nut clips and tighten down those bolts. Once you have them in by hand and everything is lined up the way you like it, make sure it's even on both sides, tighten down all the hardware. Now, it does come with this Allen key that you can use to help tighten these guys down. Next, I'm switching over to the same size hex socket just to make things quicker, but you can still use the Allen key. Tighten down the four in the front. From there, you're good to go.That's gonna wrap up my review and install for the Barricade Skid Plate for the HD Off-Road Front Bumper, fitting all '15 to '17 F-150s. Again, guys, if you already own or looking to pick up the Barricade HD Off-Road front bumper and you want some additional protection for the underbody of your front end, then this is a great way to go. Bolts right up to that specific bumper. Get yours right here at americantrucks.com.

Does not fit with a BDS 6in lift kit
over all the skid plate looked and seemed like it was good quality but it didn't fit with my 6in lift kit.

Installation was straight forward and fit is great. Installed by myself without an issue. Looks great!!!

Nice quality product.
Heavier then expected, which is good it’s a quality plate. Worth noting if you have the ecoboost and kept the air duct for your intercooler in, it’s going to be more tricky to install. I ended up drilling thru the plastic at the bolt holt and then taking a sawzall with a metal blade and cutting the bottom half of the plastic. It gave enough flex to skid the skid plate underneath then.

Barricade skid plate
This skid plate is well built and heavy duty. I would have totally kept it, except I ordered it by mistake, thinking it was for the EXTREME HD bumper.

Solid. Heavy duty
Very clean fit. A little ornery to deal with as it should be. Looks clean.

Barricade Skid Plate
This plate is stout. Definitely well made. Everything aligned great with the Barracade bumper. Not modifications with stock intercooler, had to alter slightly when I upgraded to the afe blade runner intercooler. Easy to install.

Fit perfectly to the Barricade HD offroad bumper
I Installed it last night. The first impression is great. Bolted on in about 20 minutes. Appears to be great craftsmanship. Well worth the price and a must if you install the bumper. I'll update this review after some hard off-roading to see how it fares.

Great product
I removed my air dam and installed it. I don't have a Barricade bumper but it fit perfectly to the stock bumper after drilling a couple holes for bolts, it mounted right up.
