Jake: Hey, everyone. Jake here for AmericanTrucks. And in this video, we're taking a look at the Corsa Performance Sport Series single-side exit exhaust system with the twin black tips, fitting 2021 and newer 3.5-liter EcoBoost F-150s, excluding Raptor and Tremor models. If you're looking for great sound, improved performance, and high quality in your next exhaust, this setup from Corsa should be on your radar. This is a really nice cat-back system that's going to replace your stock mufflers and resonators and give you a much better sound wrapped up in a high-quality package. And unlike a lot of other aftermarket exhausts, this system has the benefit of utilizing Corsa's RSC technology to stop drone. Now, even with that tech built in, this is still going to get a three out of five on our loudness meter. Not quite enough to make your neighbors irate, hopefully, but certainly a market improvement versus your stock setup. Now, this is Corsa's sport level. So unlike some cat-backs out on the market, this one actually isn't too loud. As you heard from the clips at the beginning of the video though, the tone here is really what's different. It's nice and deep. It's got a nice little grumble down low, reminds me of old-school bigger displacement V6s, maybe even something like an old Taurus SHO motor. But as you get up in the rev range, it's got a bit more scream to it, something more akin to a touring car or even the last-gen Ford GT. It's definitely a vast improvement over the stock exhaust note since the 3.5 EcoBoost doesn't really sound like much with the factory system on it. But again, this is not overly loud.Inside the cabin though, it keeps things under control as well. There is, of course, more volume than your stock system, but it's not so much that you can't listen to music or have a nice conversation with your passengers. But the best part here is there is absolutely no drone with this system. Corsa has packed in their RSC or reflective sound canceling technology inside of the muffler here. Now, this technology has been around and in use by Corsa since 1998, and it utilizes different specially designed channels for each vehicle to eliminate the frequencies that cause that head-pounding drone you can get with some aftermarket systems. But it doesn't mute the sound. So you'll get that pleasant tone and some additional volume without the literal headache. Now, being that this is a single-side exit setup, it's also rather subdued in the looks department. Where it differs from your stock system though is with the tips. You get a pair of these four-inch tips finished off with a black coating for a nice, strong, durable finish. And since these are a bit larger than your stock tip and there are two of them versus, of course, the single one, it's going to give a nice little visual update too, but nothing too over the top. Now, the eagle-eyed enthusiast might spot it right away, but the real tip-off is going to be when they hear it.Construction here is all T304 stainless steel, including those tips we were just discussing, making it the best when it comes to corrosion and rust resistance. The tubing is all, of course, mandrel bent, so that means you're going to get smooth exhaust flow with no odd creases in the middle of the piping. Now, T304 is excellent material, but of course, that means you're going to have to pay to play here.Speaking of which, pricing for this system will come in at about $1,200, making it a decidedly premium option in the market. But again, you're getting that high-quality construction, you're getting really good sound, and you have tech built in that eliminates drone. Now, this is a great setup for somebody who spends a lot of time behind the wheel and doesn't want to compromise. So if you log a lot of miles or even if you just want that sound without having to blow out your eardrums, this is going to be an excellent choice, provided you've got the room in the budget for it.Installation is typical of any exhaust. We're going to give it a two out of three on our difficulty meter. You should expect the job to take you about two hours to complete. Now, again, like any exhaust, it can get a bit finicky just purely due to the lack of space, as most of us don't have access to a lift. But this is a totally bolt-on system. It's going to utilize all your factory exhaust hanger locations and doesn't require you to make any modifications to your truck. And you get all the clamps and hardware you need in the kit to get the job done. With that though, let's head out to the install bay, and we'll walk you through the process.Man: The tools you'll need for this project are an impact gun or a half-inch drive ratchet, a 3/8 drive ratchet, a 10-millimeter, a 13-millimeter, and a 15-millimeter socket, and possibly a pair of hanger exhaust removal tools.Hi, everyone. Today we're installing an exhaust on our F-150, so let's get started with the uninstall of the stock system.First thing we're going to do is remove the two bolts that hold the flange together here at the front of the exhaust system. So to do that, we're going to use our 13-millimeter socket and get those out of the way.Next thing we're going to do is remove the two isolators here right in front of the muffler, and to do that, they're each being held on by two bolts, so we're going to use our 10-millimeter socket and remove those bolts. Now, we'll do the same thing to the second isolator here.Next thing we're going to do is remove this rear isolator behind the axle here, and again, it's got two bolts, one on the bottom, one on the side. We're going to use our 10-millimeter socket to remove those. Now, at this point, it's a good idea to get yourself a buddy to help lift this out because it's all coming out in one piece. Now, we've got one more bolt to remove on the isolator right at the back of the muffler, so we'll go ahead and take that out. I've got a buddy to help carry it, and we'll get this thing out. Now, before we get to installing any of our bolts, it's a very good idea if you get some anti-seize to place on the threads of all of your bolts that you're installing here, as well as the threads on the clamp for the rest of the system. We're only going to do this one time here, but remember, for every bolt and every clamp that you have, you need to put a little bit of anti-seize on the threads just to prevent any damage when you go to put it together. Like I said, it doesn't take a whole lot. Just put a little bit on the threads on each bolt, and then you're ready to install it.Now, with our bolts ready to go, we'll go ahead and take our front pipe and our flange and go ahead and put these together. Now, you do want to note, on the flange itself, you have one side that is completely flat and one side that has a bevel on it. The bevel side, you want to go towards the flange on the front pipe. So we'll slide that into place. Now, we can go ahead and install this on the head pipe from the engine and then take our bolts and get them started. Do the same thing for our other side. For now, we're just going to leave those finger-tight so that we can get the rest of the system installed and make any adjustments that we need to.All right, now, we're going to go take one of our three-inch clamps, slide it over the expanded end of the muffler, slide that onto our front pipe, and then move our clamp to the very front of the muffler. And then we're going to snug it down with a 15-millimeter socket. Now, at this point, we're going to need to remove the rubber isolators from the stock exhaust system so that we can reuse them on our new system. Now, if yours are stuck on the exhaust hangers themselves, you can use some soapy water or some spray lubricant and a pair of exhaust hanger removal pliers to go ahead and remove them from the system. So we'll just go ahead and slide ours off, like that. If you need to, use the pliers. Take that off. Do the same thing for the other two. And now, we can go ahead and finish the install of our exhaust. All right, now, we can go ahead and replace our two front isolators that we just took off of the stock system onto our secondary pipe here in the same orientation that they were on the stock exhaust. And then we'll take one of our three-inch clamps, slide it over the end. And now, we can go ahead and get this installed to our muffler. Now, once you've got it onto the muffler, you can go ahead and reuse the original hardware from the isolators and get that secured to the frame. Now, we're not going to tighten those up just yet. We'll wait until we get our system installed, and then we'll come back and double-check clearances. And then we'll tighten everything up.Now, we can install our last two isolators onto our over-the-axle pipe. Take another one of our three-inch clamps, slide it over the end. And now, we'll slide this over the axle onto our mid-pipe, and then we can raise this up, adjust our isolator, and reinstall the original hardware. Now, we can go ahead and secure our middle isolator, again, reusing the original hardware. All right, now that we've got our system completely installed, we can start tightening things up. First thing we're going to do is starting with the two front isolators here and then move to the second one and then move to the rear one. And we'll just tighten those all up with our 10-millimeter socket. Now, we'll move to our middle one. Now, we'll get the one in the rear. All right, now, we're going to go ahead and put a clamp over our exhaust tips. And you will notice that these exhaust tips do have the company logo on the top of them, and they do match the body line with the side of the bed. We'll just slide this over the tailpipe. We'll snug it down with our 15-millimeter socket. And now, what we can do is go through the entire system, double-check all of our clearances, make sure that there's no interference with any of the frame or suspension or hoses or anything like that. And then, starting from the front, tighten everything down to 45 foot-pounds as recommended by the manufacturer. And then, finally, once you've got everything tightened down except for the tips here, come back, double-check the alignment on that, make sure that they're even between the bottom of the bed and the top of the tip. And once you're satisfied with that, go ahead and tighten it down to 45 foot-pounds as well. Now, before you fire it up, I also recommend that you take some rubbing alcohol and a clean cloth and completely wipe down your entire system, especially the polished pieces. If you do that, it should prevent any staining or burning in of any oils or fingerprints or dirt or anything like that that was on your hands when you did the install. So just give it a good wipe down before you fire it up and then enjoy your ride. And that wraps up our review and install of the Corsa Performance Sport single exhaust system with twin black tips and side exit for your '21 to '24 3.5-liter EcoBoost F-150, excluding Raptor and Tremor. Thanks for watching. And remember, for all things F-150, keep it right here at americantrucks.com.
