The 9 Craziest Things from SEMA 2014

If you want to see outrageous vehicles, wild stunts and jaw-dropping performances, the 2014 SEMA Show was the place to be. SEMA is closed to the public, but don't worry, we took tons of pictures and videos to share with you. Here are the 9 craziest things we saw.

Fab Four’s Chopped Jeep JK on 50” Tires

Meet “The Legend”. This monster was dreamed up by the gearheads at Fab Fours. The top was chopped in Rat Rod fashion, and the custom high-arched fender flares made room for the monstrous 50” tires. There are too many modifications to list here, so just bask in its glory. Go ahead, bask!

$10,000 Swarovski Crystal Motorcycle Suits

The Crystal Ninja Team showed up at SEMA with over 100,000 Swarovski Crystals glued onto each motorcycle suit. Being seen on a motorcycle keeps you safe, but I'm not sure blinding motorists on a sunny day helps you achieve that goal.

3D-Printed Cars are a Reality

Made by Local Motors, the Strati is the world’s 1st 3D-printed car. The engine, suspension, and transmission are sourced, but the frame, body panels, and many interior parts are made from 212 layers of material and are reinforced with carbon fiber. Referred to as a Direct Digital Manufactured Vehicle (DDMV), it’s all electric, has a 62-mile range and with a brisk tailwind, can go 50MPH on an open stretch of freeway. This won't be my next purchase, but it's great to see innovation in this area.

Deep Dish Rims You Can Fit Your Head Into

At the SEMA Show, you won't see a vehicle without a set of custom wheels. You'll see every style imaginable, and some are deep enough to fit your head into.

The Darth Vader, by Hot Wheels

Yep, this is real. The mad scientists at Hot Wheels made this Darth Vader car for the 2014 Comic-Con in San Diego, but we got to see it again at SEMA. Based on a C5 Corvette, its exterior is mostly carbon fiber and fiberglass. Rumored to weigh nearly 50% of the original Vette, the Darth Car is still powered by an LS3 and makes 523 HP. Best of all: the hatch opens like Darth Vader's helmet. If you want to geek out, watch the official video.

The Mona Lisa, Not by Leonardo da Vinci

This is the Mona Lisa. Not sure I'd call it a masterpiece, but it is a piece of work! Slammed to the ground, loaded with electronics and airbrushed to the extreme, this was the most photographed vehicle at the show. Surprisingly, the headlights were stock.

DayStar’s Jeep FC170 on Trax

Tank-track driven, this '58 Jeep FC170 is appropriately powered by a modern 5.7L Hemi. Ready for mud, snow, and ice, this Jeep is true to the offroaders' way of life.

800HP, LSX-Powered Willy’s Jeep

With the hood down, it is a total sleeper. But it will run the 1/8th mile in 6.1 seconds @ 115MPH. What on earth could move a '52 Willy that fast, you ask? A supercharged V8 with two stages of nitrous, that's what. This is one insane person’s dream come true. We're envious.

Vison Wheels 4x4 Barbie Truck

It's a 1/3-size Monster Truck, powered by a 1.6L engine. Knobby tires and 4-wheel steering mean you can take this truck just about anywhere, pink trim and all.
