Hey, guys. It's Joe from AmericanTrucks. And today, I'm gonna be reviewing and installing the Barricade Extreme HD Front Bumper fitting all '09 to '14 F-150s excluding the Raptor models. Now, this is going to be perfect for the F-150 owner who's looking for a front bumper that is heavy duty with some awesome off-road styling and a lot of additional features all for a reasonable price. This bumper is manufactured out of 530 seconds inch cold-rolled steel and features a nice off-road design that tapers at the ends here, which is going to improve your approach angle, allowing you to get your tire up and over an obstacle. It's finished in a two-stage black powder coating that's not only there to add to the looks, but serve as a layer of protection from the elements as well. One thing I really do like about this bumper is just how many features from the factory bumper you get to retain. There's already some pre-drilled holes right up front to mount a front license plate if your state requires you to run one. There are also these tow hook adapter brackets which relocate the tow hooks on here and allow you to run them through the Barricade Extreme HD Front Bumper so you get to keep that as a recovery point. With this bumper, you will lose your factory fog lights, but there is some hardware in the kit for a 20-inch light bar right up front and there is spots on either end for some additional three-inch cube lights. So if you like the looks to the Barricade Extreme HD Front Bumper and you're looking to go all the way with it, we do offer a matching rear bumper as well allowing you to complete the look. Now pricing for the front bumper is going to come in at around 570 bucks. Now that currently seats it as the second most cost-effective bumper on the website being only beat by the Red Rock Tubular Front Bumper. For 25 bucks extra, Barricade also sells this as a kit with included three-inch cube LEDs for each side and the wiring harness and all the brackets and hardware you need to mount those up. So if you were planning on doing that anyways, that might be the route you wanna go. Install is going to be pretty basic as well. I'm gonna give it a two out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter, should only take you two hours to get it installed on your truck with some basic hand tools. But without any further ado, let me show you how it's done. Tools required for this install are going to be an 18-millimeter wrench, 16-millimeter wrench, a basic metric socket set ranging from 21 millimeters to 8 millimeters, an extension or two, and a ratchet. So for the first step of our install, we got to get our factory bumper out of here. Now we have our truck up on a lift just to be able to show you guys a little bit better the view from underneath. But it is pretty simple, you can easily do this on the ground. First, we're going to be disconnecting our fog lights, then loosening up a couple of 21-millimeter knots that hold our bumper to the frame. So we're going to start on the driver side fog and all you have to do for this is pull down on this clip. And the horn, it should disconnect from the hole. And same thing for the other side. Next, we're going to use a pretty sizable extension and a 21-millimeter socket to get at this nut here. There's four of them, they are going to be holding our bumper to the frame. So as you loosen these up, be careful and be ready to catch your bumper. So now our bumper is loose. But before we pull it away from the truck, there are a few things we have to disconnect on top. Now while we're working up here, it might be a good idea to thread those nuts on hand tight just so the bumper doesn't move on you, but we're going to be removing our hood latch with an eight-millimeter socket and a couple bolts on either side of it with a 10-millimeter socket. So that pulled out of the way, our hood latch is loose, so so I'm just gonna pull it away from this bracket here. And then the cable is gonna come out of its catch. Put that aside. Now I'm going to swap over to the 10-millimeter socket and get the two bolts on either side. So now our front bumper is completely loose, we can pull it away from the truck. So with our factory bumper off the truck, I just wanted to take a second to put it on the ground next to our new Barricade Extreme HD bumper and point out some of the key differences. But before we do, I'm gonna start with some of the similarities that are worth mentioning, namely, front license plate mounts right here. So if you live in a state that requires that, you'll be able to run that no problem and meet regulations. Secondly, if your truck is equipped with tow hooks from the factory, this kit does include some adapter brackets to allow you to keep that as a recovery point. So next, I'm going to mention some of the differences. And right off the bat, styling is going to be a huge one. This is a nice offroad design, features a 530 seconds inch cold-rolled steel that is going to be more durable. It also has a taper on each end that's going to allow you some more approach angle. As you approach a rock, it's going to allow you to be able to get your wheel onto it a little bit better than our factory bumper would. It's also sealed in a two-stage black powder coating like I mentioned earlier. That's going to protect this from any corrosion and immensely improve the looks over just regular old steel. And now not included in this kit, but will fit on here, are some 3-inch cube lights on either side of it up to a 20-inch light bar in the middle, again, just adding to the utility of your truck, allowing you to throw more light out of the front of it. So now we're just about ready to install our bumper. But before we do, there's a few things we have to care of. Again, if your truck has tow hooks, now would be the time to install those adapter brackets to allow you to keep that. And also we're going to be scavenging this hood catch release bracket right here as we're going to be reusing it. Now as you guys can see, the bolt holding on our bracket is a different finish from the rest of them. So at some point in its life, I believe this was replaced. It's probably a 10-millimeter just like all the rest of the bolts back here, but ours is going to be a 13. And same thing for this one over here. While we have our bracket in hand, I'm just going to reinstall it now to these plastic tabs using the factory 8 and 10-millimeter bolts.Next, we're going to install our new mounting brackets with the larger 18-millimeter hardware included in the kit. This one's for the driver side. This plate here should be in between the frame rail. Now I'm going to leave these hand tight for now, reason being is that's going to give us a lot of wiggle room when we need to adjust things. Later on when we get the bumper hung on there, we'll make sure it all lines up correctly. And same thing for the passenger side. So now we're ready to mount our bumper using the smaller 16-millimeter hardware included in the kit. There's three bolts for each bracket. So now is the perfect time to adjust your bumper. Make sure everything's sitting correctly. Then we can tighten down all of our hardware. Again, these bolts on our bumper are 16-millimeter for the bolt and nut, and the ones on our frame are 18-millimeters also for the bolt and nut. And it's gonna be the same process for the frame. Again, they're 18 millimeters. Next, we're going to zip tie up our fog light harness. Now if you do have an optional set of cube lights that utilizes that plug, you can leave that down for now. Since we don't, we're just going to zip tie it straight up in the truck. And that is going to do it for my review and install of the Barricade Extreme HD front bumper fitting all '09 to '14 F-150s excluding the Raptors. Thank you for watching. I'm Joe. Barricade HD Front Bumper
Excellent bumper, good quality. Definitely a two person job. The only issue I had installing was trying to get the 6 smaller bolts and nuts in place. very difficult if the tow hooks are in place. If you remove the tow hooks then you can gain better access by reaching thru the access hole for the hooks, then re install the hooks.

Easy to install but..
Very easy to install. I never swapped out a bumper until I did this one. It was very easy to install for people who know how to crank a ratchet/wrench, doesn’t take long at all took me 49ish minutes. But if you’re gonna DIY you’ll need a second pair of hands to hold the stock and the aftermarket when bolting and unbolting the bumpers. Hopefully you have a wrench cause some parts of mounting (i.e frame mounting) you’ll need to be very nimble with your wrench or socket to get the outer bolts that are towards the fender sides of the frame tightened and installed

Great upgrade for your truck
Been wanting to change my front and rear bumper for a while now. I got rear ended and decided to install both the rear and front bumpers out to the Barricade Extreme HD bumpers. Excellent upgrade and modification to my truck. Fairly easy to install and not a lot of time for the installation. I highly recommend both bumpers for your truck. Only wish I would have done sooner. Thank you American Trucks.

Love it
Somewhat tight to reach in to install but was fairly easy. Got it done quickly with 2 people. Used some floor jacks to level it out before I tightened it down and that made it a lot easier
