How to Install AFE Magnum Force Stage 2 Pro 5R Cold Air Intake - Black on your F-150

Installation Time

Tools Required
  • Flat head screw driver
  • Phillips screw driver
  • 8mm socket
  • 10mm socket
  • Rachet & 5/16 nut driver

Instruction Manual

• Please read the entire instruction manual before proceeding.
• Ensure all components listed are present.
• If you are missing any of the components, call customer support at 951-493-7100.
• Ensure you have all necessary tools before proceeding.
• Do not attempt to work on your vehicle when the engine is hot.
• Disconnect the negative battery terminal before proceeding.
• Retain factory parts for future use.


Refer to Figure A

Step 1. View of complete stock intake.
Step 2. Disconnect the wiring harness from the MAF sensor.
Step 3. Loosen the clamp securing the intake tube to the plenum.
Step 4. Disconnect the crankcase vent tubes from the intake tube.
Step 5. Unclip the upper airbox from the lower airbox.
Step 6. Remove the intake tube, upper airbox and air filter. Also remove the middle clip from the stock air box as it will not be needed.

Step 7. Loosen the clamp securing the plenum to the throttle body.
Step 8. Remove the plenum mounting bolts.

Step 9. Attach the filter adaptor E to the air filter housing B using the supplied button head Screws O .
Step 10. Install the aFe air filter A and clamp onto the filter adaptor. (do not tighten)
Step 11. Install elbow coupler F and clamps K and J onto the filter adaptor. (do not tighten)

Step 12. Install the Hump coupling G and clamps J on the throttle body.
Step 13. Remove the MAF sensor from the stock intake tube and install on the aFe intake tube C using the stock screws.
Step 14. Install the air filter housing assembly in the lower airbox and secure using the stock front and rear clips only.
Step 15. Install the aFe intake tube in the elbow coupler first followed by the throttle body coupler.

Step 16. Install the isolation mount L .
Step 17. Fine tune the alignment of the intake tube by rotating both the intake tube and elbow coupler and tighten the clamps.
Step 18. Secure the intake tube using the supplied nut N and washer M on the isolation mount.

Step 19. Replace the stock crankcase vent tubes with the supplied hoses H and I .

Step 20: Connect the wiring harness to the MAF sensor.
Step 21: Tighten air filter with a nut driver. Be sure not to over tighten or you can damage the filter base. Installation is now complete.

Step 22: Place enclosed CARB EO sticker on a clean/smooth surface on or near the device. EO identification label is required in passing the Smog Check Inspection.

NOTE: Retighten all connections after approximately 100-200 miles.


Warranty

General Terms:

• aFe warrants their products to be free from manufacturer’s defects due to workmanship and material.

• This warranty applies only to the original purchaser of the product and is non-transferrable.

• Proof of purchase of the aFe product is required for all warranty claims.

• Warranty is valid provided aFe instructions for installation and/or cleaning were properly followed.

• Proper maintenance with regular inspections of product is required to insure warranty coverage.

• Damage due to improper installation, abuse, unauthorized repair or alteration is not warranted.

• Incidental or consequential damages or cost, including installation and removal of part, incurred due to failure of aFe product is not covered under this warranty.

• All warranty is limited to the repair and/or replacement of the aFe part. To request Return Goods Authorization (“RGA”), email [email protected] or call (951)493-7100. Upon receipt of the RGA, you must return the product to the address provided in the RGA, freight prepaid and accompanied with a dated proof of purchase and the RGA.
Upon receipt of the defective product and upon verification of proof of purchase, aFe will either repair or replace the defective product within a reasonable time, not to exceed thirty days.
