How To Use the Wheel Offset Calculator

There are two ways to use our wheel offset calculator: You can calculate inner and outer clearance change from one wheel to another, or you can calculate the backspace for a given wheel.

Wheel Clearance Calculator

Here's how to estimate a change in clearance from an old wheel to a new wheel.

• Step 1: Find your current wheel's width by measuring it or looking it up in its manual or on the manufacturer's website.

• Step 2: Find your current wheel's offset. If you can't find it, here's how to measure wheel offset.

• Step 3: If you added spacers, measure those or find their listed measurements.

• Step 4: Repeat for your replacement wheel of choice.

• Step 5: Enter those measurements into the boxes in the calculator interface and hit "Calculate."

The result will show you how much further in toward the suspension and out toward—or beyond—the fender your new wheel will go. This'll help you make sure it can fit your wheel well.
